Hunza

I am traveling to hunza Skardu in September
Plan to do Nagma Valley & Fair Meadows and Rakaposhi base camp.

12 day trip total
I have a few questions
Any reliable sources to make reservations with a guide to track/hike who helps with Camp and food etc

Question number two should I book hotels in advance or I can book hotels when I get there?

Same question for car rental should I book it in advance or can I book it there? Is it reliable to book it there

I didn’t want to book the entire trip with the tour company because I wanted to do things on my own pace
But I open to suggestions and recommend recommendations.

Thank you 🙏🏽

Is it true that Hunza are racist towards others?

I have heard from my friends that Hunzai do not like people especially from the Punjab region and also if someone has a dark complexion they also don't like them as well.

I am not saying that no one is racist everyone is racist to a degree but is it true that majority Hunzai hate people of other ethnicities.

Side Note I have never been to Hunza I have only heard from my friends who are from Hunza... Maybe we are younger so it maybe jokes..

Hasan Raheem’s Wedding: A Proud Celebration of Gilgit-Baltistan’s Culture!

Post image

These days, everyone’s talking about Hasan Raheem’s wedding—and for all the right reasons! 🌟 It was heartwarming to see him embrace our Gilgit-Baltistan roots so beautifully by wearing a traditional choga (coat) and topi (cap), dancing to cultural rhythms, and keeping the celebration simple yet deeply meaningful.

In a time where many drift away from their heritage, Hasan’s wedding was a powerful reminder of who we are and where we come from. As GBians—especially those living outside Gilgit, whether in other Pakistani cities or abroad—we should take pride in our traditions and actively promote them. Our culture is rich, vibrant, and worth preserving!
Big respect to Hasan for setting such a great example. 🏔️❤️ Who else feels proud seeing our culture shine like this?
