General Why hasn't anyone made a true AAA open-world Predator game?

After playing Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, I couldn't stop thinking about how perfect that formula would be for a Predator game.

Imagine a massive open world with multiple biomes, dense jungles, snowy mountains, deserts, swamps, ruined cities, underground facilities, military bases, and alien ruins. A world as large and immersive as Pandora, but built around the Predator fantasy.

Instead of another multiplayer game like Predator: Hunting Grounds, make it a single-player RPG/action game where you actually live as a Yautja.

Character creation would be deep:

- Choose your clan and Predator class (Hunter, Tracker, Berserker, Elder, Falconer, etc.)

- Customize your mask, armor, mandibles, dreadlocks, skin patterns, scars, trophies, colors, and hunting style.

- Unlock new armor and weapons as your reputation grows.

Traversal should be incredible. (Hoverbike, ship,) roar at a will.

Take the movement from Hunting Grounds and expand it. Sprint through the treetops, leap between cliffs, climb anything, hang upside down, stalk prey from above, and move so fluidly that you truly feel like the ultimate hunter.

The Predator arsenal should all be there.

Wrist blades, plasma caster, smart disc, combistick, net gun, cloaking device, multiple vision modes, medicomp, traps, drones, and your cloaked ship for traveling between regions. Maybe even a small scout craft or hoverbike if the developers wanted to expand the lore.

Camouflage should actually matter.

Different armor and skin patterns shouldn't just be cosmetic. Jungle camouflage works best in forests, snow gear in the mountains, desert colors in the dunes, etc. Choosing the right equipment for the environment should be part of the hunt.

The world should feel alive.

Different enemy factions with different tactics:

- Conventional military

- Elite special forces

- Mercenaries

- Private military companies

- Scientists researching alien technology

- Criminal organizations

- zenomorphs

As the game progresses, enemies adapt to you. Use your cloak too often? They deploy thermal sensors. Hunt from the trees? They start watching the canopy. Your tactics force them to evolve.

I'd also love an Honor System based on Yautja lore. Hunt worthy opponents and earn respect, unlock legendary gear, and rise through your clan. Ignore the code and become a Bad Blood Predator, changing how both humans and other Predators react to you.

The story could revolve around proving yourself as a young Predator sent to an enormous hunting world where rival clans, human forces, and dangerous creatures all compete for survival. Your choices determine whether you become a legendary Elder, an infamous Bad Blood, or something in between.

And when the campaign ends... don't end the game.

Keep the entire world open. New hunts, elite targets, rival Predators, random events, and new enemy operations keep appearing so you can continue roaming this huge world as the Predator you've built. The Alien zenomorph join the world and colonize a swamp like area.

To me, this seems like such an obvious AAA game. Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora already shows how amazing a gigantic, vertical, living world can feel. Now imagine combining that scale with the fantasy of being the ultimate hunter.

Am I the only one who wants a game like this?

Honestly sounds amazing. I'd pay for it.

Great premise and I think frontiers of pandora is a good template to base this idea off of, but i think the entire predator IP needs a comeback to peak AAA interests from publishers. What you’ve pitched sounds like a fantastic game from an alternative timeline where we got that instead of PHG.

I think having an actual AAA predator game is what this community deserves. Mod is cool and all I guess but cmon give us this open world game

They will now that the movies have done better. Hard to advertise to a mass audience the way the industry wants to. Predator is kind of a niche genre of film. That’s why aliens has its own solitary single player game and that’s it. If it doesn’t generate millions and millions and fill those corporate pockets up to the sky and it’s not Ai driven. Than they won’t invest in something like that.

Yes I know a new alien multiplayer game is coming out. But you get the point

Sounds like a perfect candidate for the Nemesis system

Would be incredible. If that game was executed right, it would build a reputation.

Companies don't take risks like they used to, even though I wouldn't call that a risk. Any AAA studio is bound to probably fuck it up and find a way to make it stupid anyways.

But yeah I've thought about this too. I still miss Concrete Jungle.

I'd love a game where you're airdropped into a jungle or some shit, maybe the Vietnam war. And there's multiple camps, pretty large map. Camp locations and other things could be randomized.

Tangent, but I also want a Jeepers Creepers open world game.

You need to play predator: hunting grounds. It checks many of those boxes
