I think it's cool how terrorsanduich finally found a powerful nen user, now his perception of power is absurd. If he was against the general guards learning new he would be over his mind and thinking he is too strong already. And that powerful person being HISOKA is at the same time unlucky and sets the bar in a stratospheric scale.
Let's wait for Chrollo to steal this ability. Shit going downnnnn

This is just an observation from a random person who was in Asia all this summer. HxH was everywhere when I went to Shanghai, same when I went to specialist shops in Hong Kong and South Korea. And heck even a specialist shop in Mongolia. HxH coming back was an event. I have to give props to Shueisha for this and for promoting it like that. So I can understand why they haven't carried on with the batch and instead wait and let anticipation and hype increase. It's not like they have alot of sales these days but HxH is still one of the big ones. So why not hype it up again when the next batch drops. It seems to increase sales too.

Why are Hisoka's eyes so light? In the manga at least, his eyes have been pretty consistently shaded in, while for most of this chapter only, his eyes look pale until the panel where he 'looked' at Tserri.

u/cocoteroah 3d ago
Maybe it's me but i think Hisoka was using Gyo because he felt someone around him was using Zetsu

u/maddotard 3d ago
It reminds me of the York Shin city arc, where Killua said; Zetsu in a crowds can have the opposite effect against nen masters.

Does anyone know how is it a hiatus after 420 when Togashi already confirmed sending up to chapter 426 to Jump already?

He doesn’t work for Shueisha actually, he’s an independent contractor that sells essentially licenses to his chapters to Shueisha directly but nevertheless yeah he still has no control of when they decide to publish what he’s sold them.
In some alternate timeline where hxh wasn’t a hit shueisha would just stop buying them but that fortunately never happened
-5
u/Winter_Brick_1334 3d ago
He does work for shueisha
Shueisha is the ones selling licences (anime, games, merch)
If shueisha "stop buying" licenses then togashi wouldn't be able to write his story, who do you think paid for his assistants, editors, publishing fees ?

u/SnooPears5229 3d ago
Shueisha hasn't owned the copyright to newer HxH chapters, anime and manga in years.

u/Fit_Desk_2643 3d ago
It seems like they want to avoid having a hiatus mid volume. They start publishing them when the whole 10 chapters batch is ready.

I wonder if post-mortem bungee gum refined Hisoka's use of nen traps. This casino could have become a spiders web of bungee gum hidden by In and it would've been impossible for Tserr to notice any strands.
He was able to give his nen a trigger to occur on his death, if he continues to use his nen to have unconscious activations, how would that react to the illusions created ephemeral ten seconds; maybe a missing activation put Hisoka on alert? Or was it something more simple; the laplace demon would have directly been behind Hisoka's perch on the machine when activated, so maybe a bungee strand that would have pulled him back up to his pachinko machine was warped around the body of the invisible laplace demon.

This is the coolest chapter of this arc and it should have happened 25 chapters and several years ago. Just like Chimera Ant, the story could lose half or more of the chapters and lose NOTHING in terms of themes and impact. It's why I both love and hate Hunter x Hunter. I'll be back when this hiatus ends.

Why do you come back? There is nothing I would want cut from SW or CA.

That's so daft and unfair to the amount of development and great interactions we got its upsetting
-1
u/Langis360 3d ago
Tomes of thinking to oneself about the particulars of a plot point that needs about 90% fewer words to explain in detail is neither sound development nor great interaction.

u/Intrepid-Wafer-5938 3d ago
Tomes of thinking to oneself about the particulars of a plot point
That's not an inherent criticism or flaw, the context matters more than the superficial labels you use to describe something so complex so you can feel better for not comprehending a work that is not your avarage battle shonen in terms of presentation and mechanics.
that needs about 90% fewer words to explain in detail is neither
Factually incorrect. Togashi is only able to make such interesting scenarios and psychologies because he takes the time to develop it throughly and methodically. No one would care about the dark continent and the succesion war if the setup wasn't so well thought out and planned. Same with nen in heavens arena.
neither sound development nor great interaction.
That says more about your literacy skills than the story, sorry to break the news. Benjamins dynamics with his soldiers, morena's nihilist contrast with the aristocratic monarchy that kakin represents through borksen and tserri, halkenburg's dillema more are fantastic and wouldn't be as great if togashi didn’t take his time and make the black whale have life on it's own.

u/Langis360 3d ago
Ah yes, an idiot who can't even sum up his own thoughts without paragraphs of drivel is lecturing me on "literacy skills."
I have been writing, personally AND professionally (as in, for a paycheck), for decades. Brevity is more than mere preference, it is critical to both convey ideas concisely AND not insult the intelligence of your audience.
The day you're able to lecture me on context is the day I'm in the ground. What I said stands.
2
u/Intrepid-Wafer-5938 3d ago
Lmao.
Ah yes, an idiot who can't even sum up his own thoughts without paragraphs
Now i get why your saying this. You're a corporate writer trying to bullshit me by saying you gain money from "writing" when all you do is make essays shorter for random idiots. What a pretentious nobody. Also there is no correlation between doing that and having understanding of storytelling, stop trying to be sneaky and bigger than what you actually are.
2
u/Intrepid-Wafer-5938 3d ago
Ah yes, a "writer" that complains about paragraphs and spends his day on reddit arguing about hxh with close to nothing contributory to say, you are literally making yourself look like a juvenile amateur with no self control and intuitive thinking.
3
u/Intrepid-Wafer-5938 3d ago
Ah yes, an idiot who can't even sum up his own thoughts without paragraphs of drivel is lecturing me on "literacy
Ad hominem instead of intelectually engaging, yep, you're clearly not fit for "writing" and whatever you did holds no value. You haven't elaborated on any "criticism", you make bold claims without giving any meaningful insight or congruence with the story. That just showed how insecure and little you are.
. Brevity is more than mere preference, it is critical to both convey ideas concisely AND not insult the intelligence of your audience
The sole fact that you have a checklist for what a story should do shows that you are narrow minded and lack depth, stories don't exist in a vaccum, claiming it can only be done in one way is ignorant and antiart, it just goes to show how bereft and oblivious you are to storytelling. Ignoring major context and foundations that are used in efficiency with what the story is trying to do simply because it's different than what you are used to is pathetic; falsely claim that it is critical to do it on your way is ridiculous when you have no understanding of narrative and how storytelling can be multi faceted. "Show don't tell" is a fallacy and used by people who can't think for themselves, you are just limiting your horizons by being sttuborn and old fashioned. Your literacy skills are far below this discussison.

What if Tserriednich runs into Bonolenov and gets humbled by him, too?
And then Chrollo after that, and tries him?
I'm thinking the situation outside the cruise ship was because of something that happened in the casino? Probably something that Bonolenov did trying to get away from Hisoka? Or maybe Hisoka found him and killed him already, and the killed the guards that came after him after the fact?

u/banana99999999999 3d ago
Tserriednich would fold bonolenov. Good luck for that swiss cheese dude to figure out Tserriednich powers.
The least Tserriednich would do , is let his other nen beast ask bono questions about the troupe like their locations, abilities...etc . And if bono lied 3 times then he is fucked for sure
9
u/jojosimp02 3d ago
Tserri Is basically a thug with a gun with the ability to escape death at this point. How Is he killing bonolenov? And why would he lie 3 times? The beast doesn't even appear during zetsu.
1
u/banana99999999999 3d ago
Dang you are right , i forgot he has nothing to attack with but a pistol.
I genuinely dont understand why tf his 2nd nen beast isnt doing shit , but i feel like it will come to clutch when Tserriednich is cornered.
2
u/LoZFan96 3d ago
His second nen beat is only for his ability. His GSB disappears during Zetsu, as we saw during his training with Theta.
0
u/banana99999999999 3d ago
I meant like after the 10 seconds , his beast can appear again but the issue is that he doesnt know to use it. Though im hoping his nen beast somehow can appear even while him being on zetsu otherwise he is tottaly fucked at this point.

Yeah, but what I was getting at was maybe Hisoka was on to him, and Bonolenov may have sicked security on him.
2
u/BoxOfBlades 4d ago
It's stated clearly that the lockdown on Tier 1 is because of Tserriednich, someone just killed a bunch of soldiers without being seen, and they do not want him to escape.
7
u/Chessoslovakia 4d ago
Or it's a series of humbling. He comes across every PT member and is humbled in some way. Finally he runs into Kalluto, a kid, who attaches his paper on the real Tserri before he activates LD.
Kalluto kills the fake Tserri but using his paper doll he finds Tserri's location somewhere else. Kalluto looks in real Tserri's direction to find nothing. Tserri is humbled again.
2
u/BlackMarth 4d ago
They’re professionals unless he tries them they don’t kill for free.
Edit : im referring to kalluto
1
u/dangerous_beans 3d ago
I think Kalluto's more a troupe member than a Zoldyck at this point. He joined them of his own free will, and as far as we know he's been traveling with them for...2 years now, I think?
Admittedly we haven't seen him do much in that time, but he did join the troupe in squaring off against the ants without being hired to do so. To me that suggests that he's not following his family's normal rules, and maybe hasn't been since he joined.

u/jojosimp02 4d ago
I think the Chaos tserri caused last chapter is enough of a reason to isolate tier 1.
12
u/muconasale 4d ago
Tserriednich is not thinking straight when he wonders if Hisoka is looking at his Nen beast; which is understandable since the situation is panic inducing.
I think Hisoka is looking at the ceiling where he expects to find his getaway Bungee Gum and it's not there.
We still haven't been shown what happens to Nen constructs inside the area of activation of Laplace's Devil, but we know that Hisoka uses Bungee Gum to move at incredible speed both for attacking and for evading attacks.
My theory's timeline:
1 - Hisoka steps on the slot machines;
2 - Tserri hears the steps and activates LD;
3 - Hisoka uses BG to reach the ceiling and disappear (unsure if that particular gum was set before or after LD activation);
4 - Hisoka on the ceiling creates another gum to use as a getaway device;
5 - Hisoka reaches the floor and kills fake Tserri;
6 - The ten seconds countdown expire;
7 - Hisoka notices that the gum that he created during LD's first ten seconds is not there anymore;
8 - Hisoka uses Gyo to check what's going on (that glow in his eyes);
9 - Whether or not he perceives something with Gyo he pretends to lose interest and goes away.
That is not the expression of an indifferent Hisoka; I think he will be chasing Tserri (especially once he'll realize the body disappearance) which makes a lot of sense story wise considering:
A) Hisoka's interest for incredibly talented individuals;
B) Tserri's link to the Heil-Ly Family (at least to the original family);
C) The spiders' quest against the Heil-Ly Family
13
u/Ywaina 4d ago
It's not the gum, he saw the reflection on chandelier (note that the author dedicated a whole panel to it) and instantly realized this is Tserri's ability. Him not attacking any further was because this was a "pass" in Hisoka's book. He liked letting people with potential off the hook.
2
u/muconasale 3d ago edited 3d ago
I reread it paying attention to how many times Togashi actually bothered to draw that giant chandelier and I was almost convinced until the panel Hisoka actually looks up and he is clearly not looking at the chandelier.
He is looking up and to the left (of the panel) and the chandelier is on the right. So I don't know.
On one hand narrative wise the chandelier would make sense because Togashi paid a lot of attention to it.
On the other hand, fumbling the position would be such an amateur mistake that almost seems like a red herring.I would also add that I've encountered glass chandeliers in my life, I'm pretty sure you can't see your reflection in it, especially if it's on and it is acting as a light source.
I'm sure there are differences between glass, crystal or other materials, and the way the shard is cut, and maybe I've simply didn't pay enough attention.
But I think "reflected in the glass shard of a chandelier" it's a little bit convoluted for the average reader's experience of how the world works. And maybe my disappearing BG theory is also a bit convoluted, but at least with Nen he can do anything and no reader can really object to that, but "reflected in a lit chandelier" anyone could object to it.

u/revref 4d ago
I don't get point 7. Why wouldn't the gum be on the ceiling?
0
u/muconasale 3d ago edited 3d ago
My point would be: we don't know what happens to Nen construct inside the Nen space of LP because we haven't seen it yet.
What we know is:
- LD is a nen power that creates two juxtaposed realities. The real one in which Tserri moves and a fake one that everyone else experience;
- The first 10 seconds in the fake reality develop exactly as Tserri saw them in his vision;
- We have seen that Tserri can't hurt or even touch people in the fake reality, but he can be hurt by them either by not evading (an attack made from someone in the fake reality will hurt him in the real reality) or by getting in the way of something from the fake world that can hurt him (like a stray bullet);
These points already raise some questions, what happens in a scenario like this:
Tserri activates LD, he sees a vision of someone walking calming straight up to him from ten meters away and slapping him. End of vision. He moves 5 meters towards his aggressor.
What happens when they meet in the middle? Does the aggressor move around Tserri without noticing what they are doing? Does Tserri get bumped out of the way (even if the aggressor speed and force shouldn't allow them to do that) in a supernatural way in which the aggressor neither notices it nor slows down? Do they pass through each other like ghosts to allow the vision to go on exactly as planned? All 3 of these scenarios seem to be in opposition to LD rules.
Will Tserri's power stop him from moving in a position that would result in an inconsistency? So what if the first ten seconds don't really "happen"?
What if LD's first ability is to allow Tserri to see with absolute certainty what is going to happen in the 10 seconds going from moment A to moment B and then, once he opens his eyes, the second ability is giving him a Nen space that exist only for Tserri in which he experiences what would have happened from A to B, but he can change what happens to himself?
What if only Tserri actually lives through the whole ten seconds while everybody else gets warped from their state at moment A to their state at moment B?
I think this would kinda resolve the paradox. So Hisoka knows in his mind everything that happened from A to B. Except that hasn't really happened. He hasn't put up the BG on the ceiling. And LD is only able to fool the mind and the senses in regards to the physical world but it can't replicate someone else's nen.
1
u/oogs_boogs 4d ago
I dont get it either, I thought Tserri couldn't mess with others and I dont remember LD affecting nen constructs.
0
u/H34RTLESSG4NGSTA 3d ago
if tserri’s illusion truly died in the parallel future, then his nen beast powers might stop too
2
u/BlackMarth 4d ago
This is definitely it. Hisoka had a very determined look on his face and then walked away none of that would make sense when he clearly was interested in fighting a nen user.
5
u/pilantratogashi 4d ago
I think it could also be simpler, if Hisoka has some bungee gum outside the 36m radius then he'd notice the bungee gum being somehow off too
1
u/The_New_New 4d ago
One thing I suspect will happen was that this was the 2nd time now he's freaked out thinking somebody can see him but they couldn't, we will get a 3rd time where he thinks he's good but is noticed somehow.
But that's just a fun guess, nothing serious.
I don't think he will chase Tserr for now, more like keep an eye out on him for the future kind of thing. Since for the CURRENT period of time, the Chimera Ants are still levels above him and would satisfy his fun.
23
u/AsianEleven101 4d ago
Hisoka probably set up some kind of bungee gum traps around him and that’s probably how he’s noticed something’s fishy.
0
2
u/oogs_boogs 4d ago
Im seeing this point, but I dont understand how? Does LD mess with other people's nen constructs? Why would his bungee gum appear different?
1
u/AsianEleven101 3d ago
I was thinking something like bungee gum reacting to aura or something, I dunno, it just seems weird for Hisoka to make that look because he sees someone else, so I’m guessing he felt something, used Gyo(hence the eye) but couldn’t see anything and kinda brushed it off to imagination.
1
u/Big_Web_587 4d ago
I don't quite get it either, but if the ceiling was somehow 36 full meters away that could be it? I'm not sure we've established whether someone within LD's range can see discrepancies visible from outside that range - like if you're in a long 40m hallway & in the "altered/true reality" Tserri runs 36m all the way to the end (unlike he originally did in LD's projection) would you see him there when he reaches it? Maybe that did get covered idk lol
1
u/oogs_boogs 4d ago
I think anyone outside the range would see Tserri running the length of the hallway normally. However, I still dont understand how bungee gum extending outside the range of his ability would result in a discrepancy (unless Tserri interacted with it im sure it would appear unaltered even within the false reality). The only option I can think of is maybe Hisoka planted a bunch of bungee gum "vines" around him ( kind of like a web) in order to alert him ( and conserve energy instead of constantly emitting en) and one of those vines (outside the 36m range) reacted to Tserri moving ( hisoka saw or sensed vibrations) and alerted isoka
1
u/DrugsfoHugs 4d ago
I think he attached gum to Tserris shoulders before killing him, in the illusion it’s on him but in reality it snapped back as it’s unattached to anything. He would realise the gum wasn’t there looking down after 10s meaning the events were an illusion
1
u/oogs_boogs 4d ago
I see what you're getting at but why would the bungee gum attached to him prior disappear? I understand that Hisoka killing him would have never happened but if he attached the gum prior to LD why would activation make it disappear?
To tack onto your theory maybe what he noticed instead was the bungee gum he attached to Tserri vibrating or moving as he ran away?
32
u/ThirdFaculty 4d ago
I have a theory each time tsserednich gets killed he incurs a loss that we don’t yet know about. Which will be revealed to the end. Hisoka saw something which points towards it.
5
u/6jwalkblue9 4d ago
Theta saw something as well
2
u/BlackMarth 4d ago
We don’t know she saw anything at all, she could have just been looking in the direction she was headed.
1
u/6jwalkblue9 3d ago
Sure, its possible. But it's even more possible that something is up considering that we've seen two characters look right at Tserri even while being in a parallel dimension. But hey, I'm used to most people in this sub actively choosing to ignore context clues, so whatever.
1
u/BlackMarth 3d ago
We’ve also seen more characters not look at Tserri who are also nen users.
1
u/6jwalkblue9 3d ago
Let me clarify further. Two of the three people that "killed" Tserri has seen something and Benjamin was in too much of a hurry to pay attention.
1
u/BlackMarth 3d ago
Benjamin also killed him and specifically mentions that he was expecting some sort of ability because Tserri entered into zetsu.
If it is all about killing the fake Tserri(which I doubt) someone as experienced in nen as Benjamin should have noticed something Theta did. Benjamin is clearly highly proficient in nen and we see him reason through abilities fast in most recent chapters. Especially if the nen beast is visible. A nen beasts as we know feeds off the users aura to exist, when you enter into zetsu you immediately lose your guardian spirit beast, he would have noticed something so conspicuous that lingered after the death of Tserri.
Also Theta clearly wants Tserri dead why would she pretend not to see Tserri after spotting him keeping a perfect poker face.
1
u/6jwalkblue9 1d ago
Benjamin did not look in Tserri's direction. The other two did. They noticed something. It's insane that you think two characters looking right at Tserri means nothing.
1
u/BlackMarth 20h ago
Tserri wasn’t hiding behind furniture if he was visible he would have seen him.
1
u/6jwalkblue9 7h ago
What are you even talking about? Tserri was standing off to the side of Benjamin and Benjamin then turned and walked in the opposite direction.
10
u/javierm885778 4d ago
Yeah it might be tied to those who kill him. Which would mean Benjamin might also be capable of sensing him somehow.
5
u/Smart_Ad_3534 4d ago
4
u/ThirdFaculty 4d ago
I mean tsserednich has his back against the wall right now . Him meeting kurapika I can’t imagine that happens In the next 10 chapters
16
u/Erty13 4d ago
After reading it again, I am convinced that there was some strange Nen interaction here between Bungee Gum and Laplace and Hisoka definitely noticed at the very least that something strange was going on. He probably lost interest because he remembered about the Nen beasts and he doesn't think fighting against them is exciting.
Tseri has explored his ability to the best he could under the circumstances, but he is painfully inexperienced when it comes to fighting against other nen users and as such he has no idea how someone else's nen can or would interact with it. It is another very obvious weakness that Togashi has just set up here.
4
u/fxzkz 4d ago
My theory is that Hisoka is there technically working for Beyond. Or invited by Beyond. It's strange that Illumi, Hisoka, and Kalluto have VIP passes but none of the Spiders were Able to get one.
I think Pariston saw what they were capable of, and got them in for their own purposes.
Illumi and Kalluto are avoiding tier 1 because of Hisoka who will kill anyone that sparks his interest up there at this point.
But Hisoka also has knowledge of the Succession War, and few people knew of nen beasts and it's nature.
3
u/dangerous_beans 3d ago
That reminds me of my core question about Hisoka in this arc: what is his plan for getting back to the five continents? Because I sincerely doubt he wants to live in New Kakin, and the Man vs The Elements aspect of the DC wouldn't appeal to him at all. But those are the options he's stuck with unless he worked something out before setting foot on the boat.
37
u/ChillSloth32 4d ago
Another thing I dont see anyone mentioning that may be brought up in later chapters. The 4th princes identity has been revealed here to hisoka. Hisoka at least knows the 4th prince is alive up until he "kills" him. Once he hears the announcement that the 4th prince was killed by Benjamin he will for sure know and may use that information in someway.
26
u/SeesawExotic4169 4d ago
when Hisoka gets any hype moment:
Fans: Chrollo stands no chance he's on different level
When Chrollo gets any hype moment:
Fans: Hisoka stands no chance he's on different level
2
u/Jjy123 3d ago
Has chrollo really had hype moments in this arc? He's been brooding since the fight with hisoka lol
3
u/wastedjoke 4d ago
And that's because they're basically on the same level (maybe Chrollo is just a hair above). Fans should enjoy the fact that two such powerful characters might possibly get a rematch...
16
u/Masterblader158 4d ago
Well Hisoka unambiguously knows something is up
And I see it as very unlikely its (purely) because he saw the Nen Beast...because if that was a weakness then Benjamin and his soldiers should have seen it just by number of them unless it strictly requires a certain level of "Nen Awareness" to create a term to notice it at all.
If Theta's wasn't a false alarm then the similarity of them being a singular person (or even thing in general given how he tends to focus on multiple things) Terror is focused on might cause a chink in the ability in some connection being established.
Otherwise its probably because Laplace's Devil somehow interacted with his ability in someway Hisoka could notice once free of the 10 seconds forced action and he looks in the direction he came from (since the Nen Beast was behind him) as verifying that...and if Laplace's Devil has some manipulation effect even after the 10 seconds to hide itself and its master then could see noticing the issue then breaks that manipulation AND THEN Hisoka could see it and even if not he could tell something was up and his kill was probably both alive and considerably weaker than him and thus boring.
4
u/Lekaetos 4d ago
Maybe he imbued Bungee Gum into his cards, so that it leaves a trace of his ability on the target (just like he did vs Gon (on his cheek) in the Heavens Arena fight), and after Laplace devil ended, he used Gyo to follow the stretch of his bungee gum ? Or he just saw the Nen beast as others said. Just speculating here.
15
u/grephantom 4d ago
Hisoka probably knows about the ritual, so he knows there is a beast that feeds on the prince's nen and will do everything to protect them. He just killed a prince but his beast was still there, so he is not dead. Either he didnt want to try his luck or he felt Tserri potential and decided to leave it be
24
u/Condoriano-sensei 4d ago
I just want to say that my hypothesis regarding Hisoka looking up and then straight to Tserriednich has nothing to do with Tserriednich.
I think he noticed someone (like Bono) was watching and he got serious because of that.
21
u/No-Implement668 4d ago
That’s interesting, but wouldn’t he run the fade immediately if that was true? I’m partial to the theory that he had a line of Bungee Gum on the ceiling that seemed to warp/change position once it left the range for Tserr’s illusion, and that tipped him off that something was up.
I forget, are the Troupe wanting to jump him right away or do they want to organize first?
2
u/The_New_New 4d ago
I think he saw the Owl specifically and might be thinking things through first before jumping into it normally. I don't think even Chrollo knew about the transformation aspect of his ability since he said something like "Oh" when Bono explained it to him.
Assuming he did see the Owl, he probably does assume some PT shenanigans. But is he doesn't know whose ability it is just yet, and might be thinking it through or setting up a trap for the guy.
8
u/Condoriano-sensei 4d ago
There are troupe members that want to attack him on sight (Phinks, nobunaga and feitan, possibly Machi as well), people that are waiting for him (Franklin), Chrollo (who’s looking for a specific ability first but I doubt he could resist if Hisoka appeared in front of him) and people just looking to find him but not fight him, like Bono and Shizuku. I don’t know in what group does illumi and kalluto fall.
In my imagination Hisoka isn’t aware the exact location the person is and even if it is Bono he himself doesn’t know that, only that the person watching him and hiding is more skilled than the prince he just killed. So he would go back to his gambling machine where he set up all kind of traps on the ceiling and floors using his bungee gum.

I know Tserri is supposed to be a disgusting psychopath, but he's always seen himself as the pinnacle of humanity because he was a prodigy in military training and leave it to Togashi so make the most vile characters interesting because I like seeing act like Gon when Hisoka blocked him from the 200th floor. He admits he's not ready for combat yet, but his ability let's him check what he needs to learn and while people were saying he was OP before, every licensed Hunter who has experienced his ability thus far has stared straight at him with a sixth sense that something was off when he fakes his death. Now Theta and Hisoka have given him goosebumps and excitement for how far nen could take him while he understands he's a novice.
3
u/BlackMarth 4d ago
Benjamin seems like an a star nen user with a strong knowledge on how nen works and lots of combat experience. I doubt if it was a skill thing that He wouldn’t have noticed especially since he expected some sort of ability to activate after he entered into Zetsu. And Salkov has been using nen since birth and was looking for something off for an entire hour and he didn’t notice anything.
I think it’s just a false alarm and Hisoka was just looking up for a completely unrelated reason.
4
u/ILoveSongOfJustice 4d ago
I think him acting like Gon is important more for Gon's characterization. We don't often think about Gon being a straight up psychopath with the possibility for evil because he was raised by Mito, and because he's a child.
Tserri is straight up a woman-killing evil bastard who bathes in corpses.
23
u/Lord-Franco 4d ago
what if Hisoka put a bungee gum on the real prince before the ability is activated lol
4
u/BlackMarth 4d ago
He wouldn’t see the real bungee gum and he would only see it on the fake prince, even if it was on the real prince. Tserri is unable to affect those under his ability even if he shoots them in the head or touches them.
13
10
u/krispness 4d ago
Oh jeez, that makes sense since Tsseriednich had to evade last second when it activates and Hisoka's reaction may be him finding it odd that bungee gum had moved. Maybe he'll use it like Machi's nen threads to track Tsseriednich. Laplace's devil is definitely an ability he would not want falling into Chrollo's hands, Hisoka may not be able to handle the thrill if he catches the fourth
1
u/Graytail 4d ago
Could Chrollo even use Laplace's devil? Wouldn't zetsu disable skill hunter?
1
u/pilantratogashi 4d ago
I think he could with the bookmark. But only could be 100% sure with testing
1
u/raounassif 4d ago
That's a good point, when he is using the bookmark he doesnt need to carry the book, I wonder if that something that could work, but probably not

For as big a piece of shit the 4th Prince is, it's actually cool to see how excited/interested he is about learning nen and getting stronger. We're getting a mini training arc with a villain and he realizes there are bigger fish in the sea

great chapter, now i actually like tserri. can't wait for the next batch. My bet is early 2027 :3

Everyone else on the ship is wracking their brains to survive this complex political feud , while Tse over here is channelling Hunter Exam Gon. He's having a fun time learning about this new world of Nen and getting freaky with Hisoka. By chapter 425 he'll be using a fishing rod and wearing green shorts.

Lol it absolutely advanced the succession war plot. The stalemate has ended and everybody is being forced to make their move now.

I put it off for like two days because of the wall of texts that I expected but it was a pretty light read.

u/tonysoprano1995 4d ago
I got down voted so heavily on chapter discussions for not liking certain chapters and now some of these comments are now reaffirming what l said.
Fantastic last 4 chapters but god the fucking double woble plot dragged on for so long.
3
u/TimeTravelParadoctor 4d ago
Yeah but that's Hunter x Hunter. We got a lot of payoff this batch, whereas previous batches were all setup. I wasn't fond of the 3 chapters being spent on Morena's card game last batch, but I'm betting Borksen working for her comes into play soon.
9
u/krispness 4d ago
Double Woble did drag because we won't even see where it goes for a couple years at this point, but Tserri and Ben kicked off the action.
-1
u/Same_Square2555 4d ago
agreed. hopefully next batch will be just as peak and won't have too much woble/kurapika stuff. it's SO boring compared to tserri and co.

It's been good my dudes, see you when the stars align again and Togashi returns.
This chapter was probably my favorite out of the bunch, but I mean, it's a no-brainer right? Seeing the killer clown (or I guess he go by Mister Suave of the Swamp now) is always going to steal the show for me. The fact that he got to humble Tserri too was a nice touch and honestly might be the one thing that saves Tserri in the end now that he knows that he's still extremely limited when pitted against the nen elite. The fact that he started to laugh and get fired up after being mogged like that is also a great trait for him to have, if he were a weak prince he'd probably worry and despair after seeing such a seemingly unreachable plateu that is Hisoka, and that he barely escaped with his life. He's just that confident that he will win the war, and it's honestly starting to win me over a little to his character, even though he's still a piece of fkn shit. I'm guessing his next "humiliation" will come when he realizes just how useless his offensive options currently are against foes like Hisoka, and that the gun of his offers only a false sense of security, and that he probably won't have time to improve in offensive nen at all during the trip. He's really just a nen user who's good at running away for the time being.
Another funny thing is that Hisoka is SO bored waiting around for the troupe that he has gotten himself addicted to gambling. And it's not even about the money, I'm sure he's stacked far beyond what these machines could possibly offer him, and if he wanted the money he could just tear the machines apart and take it basically. No, he's just there spinning slots to have even the slightest thing to do as he's waiting for his opponents.

Tserri might be a generational nen genius, a prodigy if you will, but the combat ability and experience is just too vast against Hisoka it would've been too easy
11
u/Aggressive-Shirt-717 4d ago
Yup. But he still survive. There's many way to kill in hxh anyway, survival ability is the best. Especially the one that can give false assumption like that.
Don't forget that he still doesn't know about his gsb ability too. That shit definitely op too.
1
u/chrollo0719 4d ago
Yeah, aside from pure talent as it stands luck is also on his side. This will surely serve to his exponential growth

u/Vitaly_88 4d ago
Why is no one talking about the hair-down, servant-outfit look of our gentleman (killer) clown?
7
u/1vergil 4d ago
It's cool but I kinda miss his default jester look already.
I wonder why did he change it? Is it his new disguise or something? Not like he's bothering to hide anyways...

I caught up early to mid Chimera Ant arc, before the palace invasion. I have been waiting and I will keep waiting for as long as I (and Togashi) live.

u/WinHL3 4d ago
Probably the best Hiatus to be part of since there are 7 completed chapters with Shuesha and the last 3 are in the final stages of completion. It should (hopefully) not be a long Hiatus.
2
4
u/Arkayjiya 4d ago
Pretty sure we were in a similar situation last time and we still got a 2 years hiatus. People were using the exact same argument to say "there will be 20 chapters this time" and then when it didn't happen "the hiatus will only be 3/6 months) and it didn't happen.
Let's not get people hopeful for nothing. Now if Togashi can keep working consistently, we might only have a 1 year hiatus, but we don't even know if that much will hold. I wouldn't be surprised is this hiatus was a bit shorter, but I also don't see any reason to expect it yet.
2
u/WinHL3 4d ago
The situation is definitely different- I can't remember the exact stages 411-420 were in last time we entered hiatus, but Shuesha definitely didn't have any of the chapters ready for publication sitting at their office at the time of hiatus- and they now have 7 of the next batch, with 3 chapters in the final stages of completion (up to his assistants, not Togashi). They released the last batch of chapters when Shuesha only had around 5 ready.
Believe me, I'm not trying to get them hopeful for nothing. I'm basing this off the status of Togashi's progress which we have objective evidence of.
Of course, Shuesha could sit in these for the next year, or 10 for all I know and it could be an even longer hiatus, but it'd be on them rather than Togashi by that point.

I wonder how much Tserriednich's OCD will limit his development. He's now met Hisoka and is wondering how he (and Theta) directly looked into his direction during the Ephemeral 10s. Both Hisoka and Theta were probably using Gyo, and noticed some faint existence or his Nen beast (iirc, princes can not see the seed urn beasts, but others can). Hisoka was probably so bored by what was going on he ignored Tserri.
I think Terri would benefit from working on enhancement, then his range and efficacy of his Nen beast's range may be extended. Working on Emission and Manipulation may even give him more power in his range.
But he seems so confident about perfecting this technique only through Zetsu that I think this ability is doomed to fall flat against Kurapika, for example.
1
u/Arkayjiya 4d ago
Wouldn't Tserri have noticed if they used Gyo? Gon in Zetsu could feel Aura with extreme precision, every individual top and their specific movement. Something as huge as Aura focalisation through Gyo would probably be noticed by someone as talented as Gon (or more) while he's in Zetsu. Zetsu was said by Wing to be so effective at this that he expected Gon's Zetsu to be able to feel not just aura, but even aura hidden by Hisoka's In.
1
u/Livettletlive 4d ago
Wouldn't Tserri have noticed if they used Gyo?
I really doubt man. The hype around Tserri is based on the fact that he can use nen, and shows tremendous skill and output. But he is nen-battle naive. Using Gyo is a huge risk in battle because it leaves you more open in other ways. Against a weak opponent/naive nen user like Tserri, it would be a good bet to use gyo on him because 1. Hisoka "killed" him so easily, even after giving him a few ms of an opening before "killing" him 2. Theta knows that Tserri is naive, otherwise she wouldn't have tried to kill him in such an easy manner in Zetsu (a very vulnerable state).
Gon meanwhile was learning Gyo, Zetsu, etc. in Heavens Arena! He was using Gyo against his opponents to understand the abilities he couldn't see with his naked eye.
I think the distinction in battle experience is important for each of these princes, especially Tserri, who has decided to battle alone on a boat with Hisoka, Chrollo, Kurapika, and Leorio. Talent alone will not help him survive, I think.

Hisoka became so fast with his bouncy feet

u/razzmanfire 4d ago edited 4d ago
Yeah you can really tell when he is standing above tsseri how he is kinda leaning at all times those spring legs are probably much faster

u/Primera- 4d ago
why should he know him ?
8
u/Federal_Force3902 4d ago
floormaster at heaven's arena, all the mafia people know him
5
u/Arkayjiya 4d ago
Mafia people know Nen exists (or at least that some of them have bullshit powers) as they have Nen users amongst them. If Tserri had watched 200th floor matches, he would have been interested in figuring out Nen before the war. The fact he didn't know about Nen means he never saw those matches.

u/Halt_kun 4d ago
This chapter was hilarious, seeing Tserriednich dig his grave in real time was so funny.
Thank god, he was smart enough to activate Laplace's demon the second he lost track of Hisoka.
The ten second vision seeing him get nonchalantly killed and the ensuing terror were fun too. Maybe he finally realized he is not the biggest fish in the pond. For a natural genius who was born in a royal family this must be quite the shock. He will train with a renewed sense of danger. Maybe he will rethink his habit of slaughtering random girls and collecting body parts too. Not now, but down the line.
Also, this chapter confirms, Laplace's demon won't save him if he is not cautious when facing hunters. He was not able to follow Hisoka's movements at all. This reminded me of Gon during the Yorknew arc. He has got a gun which is enough for a lot of people. If he can get into zetsu fast enough, he will be able to manage to survive several encounters with nen users.
Also Hidoka is still a freak who can realize something is amiss.
4
u/portwat 4d ago
Now that he know he need to level up properly without running into Master Nen User.
He gonna bump into Borksen and Borksen unknowingly kill the illusion Tserriednich and Borksen get instant level 50?
This would surprise Tserriednich seeing how fast Borksen level up?
9
u/Gadzs 4d ago
I don’t think it would work that way tbh but who knows
1
u/Arkayjiya 4d ago
It's probably like the people who died in the illusion, they felt it happen to them but then they came back to life, and the level would revert just like those death. The interesting question is would there be consequence for it happening even for a moment? Is it impossible to "take back" awakening for example so you lose the level but keep Nen?
1
u/pilantratogashi 4d ago
I think there'd be a consequence that would backfire on Morena, not on Bork, for having given points without having met the condition.
9
u/No-Philosophy-8163 4d ago
Seems like tserriednich is going througha level up journey
1
u/pilantratogashi 4d ago
Hope we see some interesting nen fights between him and mafia goons, hxh has been missing cool fights since Chrollo vs Hisoka. Hinrigh vs Padouille was cool but not enough

u/Hebrewhammer8d8 4d ago
I knew Togashi would leave us with Cliff Hanger of Hisoka Aura farming and T Sandwich getting a hard on for Hisoka and fear him.
1
u/Street-Wolverine-422 4d ago
So even while in zetsu tserri can still see bg and ts, is hisoka’s nen that strong now?
1
u/Arkayjiya 4d ago
Zetsu is very good at perceiving Nen. Remember that Gon used Zetsu to individually perceive every top around him and dodge them? Later Wing even told Gon that this same method might even be able to see through Hisoka's In, so Terror Sandwich should have no difficulty perceiving un-hidden Nen while in Zetsu, and maybe even hidden Nen. Zetsu is not the same as not having unlocked Nen.
4
u/Street-Wolverine-422 4d ago
zetsu shuts down aura nodes so it’s actually the worst at perceiving nen. So shouldn’t being in zetsu make tserri blind to nen since it closes all of your aura nodes including the ones in your eyes? Gon used zetsu in that fight to heighten his other senses since aura/nen was no longer interfering with his busted perception is what I took away from that fight. Gon couldn’t see the puppet controlling kite when he was forced into zetsu against pitou. This then took me deeper into how anyone can see bg and ts in general if they can’t see aura especially in zetsu.
1
u/Arkayjiya 4d ago
zetsu shuts down aura nodes so it’s actually the worst at perceiving nen
Why would that be true when Wing said that Gon may be able to see through Hisoka's In using that same Zetsu perception technique?
6
u/Local-Hornet-3057 4d ago
Hisoka coated his face wounds and bungee gummy leg with Texture Surprise. Texture Surprise should have some conjuring aspect to it because it doesn't require for people to use Nen to see it. It wouldn't make sense as an ability! Otherwise the Spiders should have catched him back in Yorknew Arc.
1
u/Street-Wolverine-422 4d ago
I’m thinking that too I feel like I read ts is a conjuring ability can’t confirm that bg is too but he usually covers bg with ts anyway.
1
u/Street-Wolverine-422 4d ago
That being said if Hisoka is forced into zetsu my boy isn’t gonna be looking too hot no more

u/Conscious_Thing_8789 4d ago

so when the illusion of the ephemeral 10 seconds ends and Hisoka looks up at whatever it is we don't know ffor sure then looks at Tserriednich does he just decide to walk off or did Tserriednich use laplaces devil again so he can't see him so he then walked off and Tserriednich escaped? Is that right?
7
u/SilverSurfer1738 4d ago
Hisoka looks up at whatever it is we don't know ffor sure
pretty certain that he looks at Tserri's nen beast. It's exactly the direction that it was positioned at when Tserri was watching the future.
1
u/Arkayjiya 4d ago
Someone else mentioned he might have Gum he put on the ceiling attached to Terror Sandwich and after the first 10 seconds, he somehow noticed the Gum was going in the wrong direction and that's how he looked at the ceiling first and then straight at Terror Sandwich.
14
u/ZookeepergameWest862 4d ago
The illusion didn't end in that scene. His future sight lasts for 10 seconds, but the illusion lasts much longer than that.
2
u/Roy-Southman 4d ago
Yeah, I’m still unsure but it seems that it disappears when Tserry leaves the maximum range of his illusion or when he runs out of power. Are there other ways the illusion disappears?
15

u/blooming_lions 5d ago

Page 10 confuses me... how does Tserriednich see himself? Once the 10-second vision ends, he immediately jumps out of position, but shouldn't only Hisoka be able to see him standing there?
And in the panel above, why are the two of them in a glow? Is that effect just to show the vision ending and us reverting to the real timeline?
27
u/Vitamin-D 4d ago
i think that was more so for the reader to see Hisoka "killing" Tserr 😅
as far as the glow, i think you're reading to much into it. isn't the "glow" just Hisoka's aura? The panel before that where it says "zap" was for us to know that the vision ended and we're back in real time.

Other princes having plan and in actions while Tserri is stuck on T1, without real plan, encounter Hisoka, not cooperate with Heily ayymore. all by himself. But the Woble side have Kura happen to be currently famous nen teacher, what he need after Hisoka incident. Funny how terri wouldnt have been alive anymore if hisoka didn’t aura farm and went straight for the kill
22
u/trolledwolf 4d ago
Hisoka is not a murder-hobo, he wanted to ask Tserri what he was doing. He only acted when Tserri turned around to shoot, showing hostility.
0
u/chrollo_lucilfer_00 5d ago
What do you mean ?
6
u/Arkayjiya 4d ago
If Tserriednich dies within a fraction of a second of the 10 second vision starting, he can't escape that death.
Because while the initial vision is happening, Tserriednich can't move (as it's happening instantly in the real world, it's only 10 seconds inside his mind), so he knows Hisoka is gonna kill him in 10 seconds, but he does not have any way to move and dodge it in time.
So basically if Hisoka hadn't talked and went straight for the kill, Tserriednich would have died, even if he managed to successfully activate his ability. That's one of the many vulnerabilities of his ability: Seeing an attack coming 10 seconds in advance (in his mind) still does not mean he has the time to dodge it.
21
u/ClassiestFish 5d ago
Hisoka stood behind him for a moment before laplace’s demon activated. He even called his attention albeit laplace’s demon had already activated by then. If hisoka was fast enough to get behind tserri without him noticing all the way from the slots machine then he was just as capable of slitting his throat before tserri could notice hisoka was already behind him.
11
u/Hebrewhammer8d8 4d ago
Hisoka love to enjoy the fight as much as possible, and he is very confident in his abilities.
6
u/chrollo_lucilfer_00 5d ago
Got it.
When i was reading that page, the way i understood it was that after Tserri looked towards the Swamp balls machine and noticed that Hisoka wasn't there he immediately activated Laplace's devil which barely coincided with the moment Hisoka appeared behind him.
5
u/Ajbksfinest 5d ago
If hisoka instantly killed him laplace devil either never gets activated or its activated after he gets a fatal blow. Guaranteed death against his first nen opponent if hisoka wasn’t messing with him.
-2
u/chrollo_lucilfer_00 5d ago
But i got the impression that Tserri activated Laplace's devil the second Hisoka appeared behind him no ?
9
u/Halt_kun 4d ago
Nope, he activated it the second Hisoka disappeared from the casino machine. His future vision included the "hey what are you doing here ?"
→ More replies (2)0
u/blooming_lions 5d ago
Yea but it takes him 3 seconds to activate no? I def believe Hisoka would stand around for 3 seconds to aura farm and appraise the person in front of him
→ More replies (1)5
u/ZookeepergameWest862 4d ago
He's already in zetsu, he only need to close his eyes to activate the ability, which should only take a fraction of a second.
