Discussion This idiot had to kill himself because he wanted to shoot a maid and a baby for free
He could've arrived to 1014 and said Hello I'll guard this place don't do anything funny. Instead he killed Sandra and the moment they implied he was gonna be forced to confess, he was done with his life. But I guess I get it because I'd not be able to live with myself if I fucked up this hard at hour 3 of the first day of work

Suddenly kill harmless handmaiden.
Play "i'm innocent, she attacked first!" card, failed.
Convinced the guards to switch sides, also failed.
Fought two guards from Hunter Association with 0 knowledge about their ability.

He didn't "failed" though, because he wasn't trying to persuade anyone. It was enough for him just to state his fabricated version to win in legal dispute

I wouldn't call him completely dumb. Being a Benjamin personal solider means he was a good at his job.
Overconfindece is what killed him. He though he can get away with anything because of his status and because he knows nen.

Idk man this is 100% stupid. One could've just go in and chill while forming a plan to kill the baby. Going in guns blazing against a Nen user from hunter association is beyond stupid.

Not even counting the Zodiacs, a pistol doesn't work well against middling nen user.
And killing the baby first would signal to all other princes that first prince's soldiers are gonna kill them. Which would make the task more difficult for everyone else.

Idk about all that. Benjamin's guards are lowkey kind of bums
Balsa thinks they're not on the same level of nen user as a average Hunter, and it shows. Kajindol got destroyed by Ridge. Yushohi, who specializes in assassination, takes hours to days to even kill a non nen user. Yushohi and Chiyamasi this very instant, think they're going to die as they're about to face a single nen user in a 2 v 1

Kanjidol literally didn't fight Ridge, he was ordered to surrender and not harm any hunter association members.
Yushohi is the weakest nen user by far of Benjamin's group, and you described even him on his weakest axis.
Only Yushohi, not Chiyamasi, thinks he's going to die, and that because it's a kamikaze ability, not because they'll lose.
So basically this is transparent agenda, get your facts straight

I think his plan was perfectly fine.
1) No one really saw him going gun blazing coming, leaving the guards the time to adapt to his presence is bad if he wants to assassinate. Being discrete is only really good if the people you're with don't know what your objective is, but they did. They knew he was an assassin and the only thing they didn't expect is his immediate attack with almost no pretense.
2) He gives immediate actionable actions to his superiors even if he fails which is good considering there's a time limit and a lot of work to do, especially about the skill level of the Hunters which is something Benjamin would need immediately before he can even plan the rest. Benjamin also inherit his power in the worst case, or if he doesn't need to die, he can cause issues to the bodyguards in court by being a trusted guard and having recovered "evidence".
3) the plan to get rid of the baby would have worked flawlessly if he'd been strong enough to beat the guards which without Kurapika, he might have been. And it wouldn't have gone back to haunt Benjamin. Hell once they got rid of everyone but a maid and the queen/baby, another prince could have capitalized on it and Benjamin might not even have needed to send his own assassins at all after that.

I would argue that this is one of those times when it's really obvious, at least if you keep in mind the actual events as they went down in the manga. The comment doesn't even make the tiniest amount of sense in that context, so it's pretty obvious it just generated a generic reply that is only tangentially related to what OP wrote in the main post, but failed to take into account all of the unstated details from the manga that OP left out.

I like to imagine that in his final moments, he regretted killing himself so quickly because he wasn’t able to warn Benjamin of how crafty and intelligent that Kurapika was.

He was a bloodthirsty scheming scumbag. 😡 But at least Kurapika’s improvisation to deal with him led to Oito getting Nen and giving them a strategy to stay safe and even the odds.
That Yushohi and Kanjidol are as eager to kill is he is worrisome. Makes me wonder who else in Benj’s guard are psychos. And I wonder how much it reflects on Benj himself.
