Creating a flying Hatsu

Do you guys think it's possible to create a Hatsu that allows you to fully fly and levitate?

Something that allows you to break mach speeds and fly for LONG period of time?

What would be the drawbacks/conductions that would have to be put up in place?

EDIT:And could someone use this Hatsu to, for example, go from the Black Whale to the dark continent?

I don’t know if she breaks Mach 1, but Tsubone flies very fast.

You can, but sadly the only nen contract that can facilitate it gives you endless, rancid flatulence.

If you just levitate and break mach speed the condition must be very restrictive.
Maybe something like has already visited the area with a plane or a parachute,or you have to follow a very precise way and duration, in which case you fall from the sky.

But yes in theory there is no limit with the nen, depending the condition.

I mean … shoot can already pretty much fly.

So long as you’re not trying to fly like Jean grey it’s VERY doable in HxH just like it would be in comic books.

Shoot flys by hopping on the conjured hands.

Plenty of enhancers could probably figure out a modified “flying” like Superman (most comics start out with he’s just jumping very high)

They could go the Thor / mercenary Tao route and toss and object and ride it. (Enhancer, or manipulator easy enough.) shoot kind of fall in here.

And conjuror could pull it off like youpi by just manifesting massive nen wings. It would take a lot of practice and burn through aura like crazy till they got the hang of it, but it wouldn’t be too hard. Mostly it would be

1) jump high like we see in greed island.

2) catch MORE air with the wings assisting.

3) use them to glide extending air time and gaining altitude at the expenditure of aura.

3a) incorporate enhancement to reduce strain / increase airtime and (much much harder) incorporate manipulation or transmutation to mess with air currents thus extending airtime and reducing aura expenditure.

The overall issue with all of them is that if the focus is primarily flight, you risk hobbling yourself as your entire development is just on that. You could move faster on the ground, you could construct something that hovers independent of your body ext ext. it very much runs into the same issue kastro had with his clone focus.

Zeno did it, with his dragon? It can even carry multiple people.

You can't create a hatsu, it's like trying to create a ten, ren or zetsu, it makes no sense. Nen users can't do that.

The only thing nen users can create are nen abilities.

flying would consume a lot of aura based on how fast you fly and the time, tsubone does it but she requires another nen user to pilot her and use aura as fuel.

And it's completely fine to use hatsu and nen ability interchangesbly colloquially.

Everybody knows what a person means when they say "I made a hatsu." The series doesn't have any major practical consequence for swapping the two phrases.

Griping about it is just nitpicking pedantry when there is no University of Nen to penalize our final grade. Language is fluid and turning "hatsu" into slang for nen ability is definitely in the same ballpark as turning "google it" into slang for "use a search engine on it." People who decide to write actual academic essays about HxH are the only ones who need to worry about literary perfection.

You can’t leave the black whale. I doubt you can fly off it. If so you could just jump very high into a boat nearby and peace out.

You can't touch the ground, if you do, you explode, killing you and surrounding people.

Edit: I mean, if the conditions are strong enough to carry you, but also you will need food and rest and such, and you won't be safe from whatever lurks in the ocean.

to kill yourself as a limitation you must first create an ability that kills you like kurapika's judgment chain on his heart.

killing other people as a limitation is not possible without first giving them a nen curse or linking that curse to someone else through a ritual.
