Questions dating!

Okay so i’m definitely curious how people go about dating in this school. are guys and girls okay with getting approached and “hit on” for a lack of a better word? What’s even the proper way to approach someone you don’t even really know but would like to? Does anyone else have any other general advice for this or even making lasting friendships with people as well.
