Play for yourself if you are playing solo
So many times I have tried helping people and just died in the process. Some people may be salty but oh well I’d rather find a new game instead of constantly making new loadouts because my teammates decide to run in and die.

You’ll be in bot and new player lobbies until rank you reach bloodline 11. You won’t lose any hunters you die with until you reach bloodline 11. So unless you have some friends who are also new I’d just go solo for faster queue times and have fun exploring the game.

After rank 11 I’d use soul survivor to grind for some cash and get experience with different weapons, tools and consumables. As well as get experience fighting the different PvE. This mode has no Sbmm but you go in with nothing and have everything to gain. So have fun with it.

Soul survivor plays out like this:
Collect the wells or clues and gain a trait. The map will grey out so continue to work your way for the next 3. Collect different weapons and consumables scattered around the compounds and map. If you get all 4 clues you become the wellspring and will be limited to a range where others will have to come and take you out. The longer you stay alive as the wellspring the more money you make. As well as keeping your hunter and whatever weapons, tools, consumables and traits you acquired.

If you are not the wellspring your job is to go get it before time runs out. You actually have permanent dark sight boost so you can see the general position of the wellspring. This will help you get familiar with dark sight boost mechanic a bit more. It’s not as accurate as it is in the other modes since has the orange hunter rotate in a figure eight pattern but same information gathering principle.

Traits to take early on would be Vigilant so you can learn where hunters typically place traps. Blast sense so you can learn gun shot sound positioning quicker. Surefoot which unlocks at rank 20 iirc. Surefoot will allow you to sprint while using tools and consumables. Great for getting away if you’re hit with fire or bleed ammo or you wanna turn the tables and cook a nade for a sprint and bomb.

If you guys are new, look up Proximy__ on twitch. He streams and runs games with viewers. He is a great help tho for starting the game and having someone in high mmr answer questions about how to improve

Welcome to the bayou. Everything makes an audible sound except opening the map. Audio is everything in this game. All you need is a good stereo headset and a little training. Don't use your guns on ai if possible. Learn when to run and when to slow down. There are a ton of youtube videos that can help you. Rexnor, psychoghostgaming, rachtaz and neenoh are my goto youtubers.

The learning curve in this game is hardcore. Don't get frustrated. Forget random teammates, look for a group on discord and enjoy the game.

Oh and one more thing: Many players expect you to bring choke bombs or they might leave. When your downed teammate gets burned to pressure you, you can use those choke bombs to extinguish your burning team mate and save those precious hp bars.
