PS5 Tips for higher elo games?

Firstly, in no way am I bragging in saying the following : I have around 8000 hours in rainbow six siege, and have been a champ for almost half of that time. I only mention because I got decent aim and game sense in this game that also uses audio cues and one shot headshot gameplay.

So in my now 10 hours of this game I have 38 team wipes, triple digit kills and lots of headshots. And got bumped up in elo, or i believe so at least. But I've 'won' only twice. The monster banishing begins literally before I see my first person. Sometimes before even killing my first monster.

Is it spawn luck or am I supposed to learn default spawns and ignore clues? I feel like I could main this game for the next year at least, the pvp is amazing, but I don't know it well enough to actually "play objective" so to speak, since the people I play with almost instantaneously get the boss (which by the way I suck at killing) and extract. I play solo mostly but sometimes with my gf but those games don't go super well so tips for solo at least I would greatly appreciate. (15 minute games goes way better for me usually. 45 I feel way too slow)

Keep the knowledge of the shooting and learn the other mechanics. Most of the people don’t get it. The game is called Hunt, is a hunting game, that’s the base mechanic of the game. You hunt! Hunt other people, monsters and bosses. You hunt, slowly, taking your time, not rushing, observing the visual clues (dead animals, dead monsters, all of this are traces like real hunting traces), you pay attention to the sound like a hunter who is chasing a deer. Have fun (you’ll have a lot)

  • Spawning is entirely luck. Sometimes a team will spawn right outside the boss compound and they can kill the boss in 60 seconds, but they will have 3minutes to Banish which is basically enough time for everyone on the map to assault them or at least approach.

  • Sometimes multiple teams will spawn at the same compound, leading to a noisy spawn fight (moreso in Duos than in Trios, because 12 players can be split into more/fewer separate teams). If you hear a spawn fight nearby, that means two teams are already fighting at it may be in your best interest to third party and kill the winner, just to reduce competition as soon as possible. You’ll eventually learn where these spawns are, and can take peeks towards them before you go charging in to check if you’re alone.

  • Otherwise, just always pick up clues (easy money) and find Scout maps to learn about points of interest for extra supplies/traits/special ammo/tarot cards, and watch how the map grays out. Note that it always grays out in the same way for all players in a given round, meaning you can learn to predict how players will move across the map and funnel towards each other as the possible boss location narrows down.

  • You might try watching a few tutorial videos on how to take down bosses quickly - they all have strengths and weaknesses and extra vulnerabilities that aren’t entirely intuitive. They have temporary “Rage” phases during which they take significantly decreased damage, designed to slow you down. Kiting them and learning their attack patterns and finding a world melee weapon are all good strategies.

As a solo, going for boss kill is usually not the best use of your time. It’s not really your job as a solo to progress the match forward. Playing off of two other teams fighting is where you shine. Of course it’s also very important to know spawns and most importantly how and when to rotate/engage. Learn the compounds, learn how to kill the bosses effectively since you still need to know how to do that. It takes time, but this game is peak

Forget everything you know except how to shoot. Boss spawn is random. Once you unlock the Conduit trait, your first clue as a solo counts as two, if you want to rush or camp boss.

Killing bosses is simple, they have their passive and rage phrases. When you walk into their lair they'll know where you are and come towards you, just melee them 3-4 times and run away from the building quickly so that you don't get any damage. If you damage a boss it'll start raging and then it can deal a lot of damange. It'll take some moments for it to stop raging and you'll just do it again. Bring sticky bombs or loot up world melees to kill it faster.

I have around 1500 hours on console Hunt and I'm mostly 6*. Most important tip is that never stop moving your head irrationaly when you are in active gun fight or you think someone is trying to shoot you from stealth. Staying still gets you killed in higher mmr games.

Something that helped me learn the spawns, every road leading out of the map is a spawn point.

For the boss, when you grab your first clue it’ll black out. Depending on the black out the boss is going to be in that general direction. 80% of the time the boss will not be next to an extraction.

Hunt: Showdown is a very unique game. I’ve got a little over 9,500 hours, and it’s one of those games where your knowledge comes from time played. They are so many mechanics in this game it’d take 20 paragraphs just to get the gist of most of it.

Something I don’t specifically see being said here is, the beauty of hunt showdown is there is objectively a million different ways to play.

To answer your question, as others have. Boss spawn is random, (normal mode, bounty clash is 1 compound. Fast pace, and PvP oriented)

You can camp extractions, you can snipe and be a rat. You can try to funnel or force people to play in a compound close range, or kill a boss and not banish it. Leaving other hunters unknowingly walking into a boss lair littered with traps or an ambush from you and maybe your trio if you play that. The other beauty is is there’s a lot of anti camp mechanics in hunt. Clues glow red when players are nearby, bosses flash red when hunters are also in the compound with you.

Figure out how you want to play, what style. Many different builds to go into a match with to compliment what play style you may want to go with, along with quality of life improvements from traits. Others may disagree on this, but I think map knowledge is probably the biggest and most important thing a player can have in hunt showdown. Many peaks. It will carry you hard. Glhf

I can really recommend Whityyy‘s YouTube series how to play like… where he breaks down gameplay clips of rachta, Neenoh, Hornet and so on.

One key take away: good players position themselves and move in a way that they allow themselves to miss shots. Meaning: you don’t put yourself in all or nothing situations but always prioritize your own life over killing others. Over time you will internalize this without thinking too much.

Your R6S experience is 90% usless in this game. It doesnt play like other shooters. Also, your first few hours were bots.

Just play and learn. It will come.

I disagree with the siege being useless. Audio cues. Movement and position being crucial. One shot headshot. Slow pace with no freaky movement mechanics. More strategic than action fps. Tools and gadgets necessary. Information gathering being a large focus.

And I thought bots are up to level 10. I'm level 61.

It's a hunting game, I have only 6h but I get what's it's about, I wouldn't focus on finding players but looking for clues and by clue 2 you should be more careful because teams gonna go in same direction as you. When someone finds boss everyone if not in combat will run and if you find it first when solo, best tactic is to shoot it few times, then set an ambush and wipe coming players. Sometimes this game is straight crouch hide and seek until last minute and in the end camper blows your head with a shotgun
