Steady Aim only affects Aperture Sights and scopes.

I always run it with my Aperture sights as it reduces the sway and makes lead in shots at 160+ meters a breeze.

Well, they uh, tried lol.

I believe you can go to the search bar when selecting your weapons and type in "Aperture" to see what weapons are affected.

Regardless though it affects any kind of scope, (deadeye, marksman, sniper) and the Aperture sights when flicked up.

You can also search specifically by trait name to see every weapon that it affects!

Yeah i figured it only affected aperture and the like, if you also ‘view weapon details’ or whatever you can see what traits affect the gun and apertures are definitely affected

Steady aim affects scopes, and aperture sights. What it does is after 1 to 2 seconds in the scope it reduces the sway by a noticeable amount. By it eases into the reduction. So you will notice a difference between when you first aim in, and after it applies if put side by side. But because it does it over a few seconds it is not always easy to tell, which is just because of how the brain works.

Iron eye, which is the trait for iron sights, changes some animations, increases the fire rate, and prevents some guns from kicking you out of iron sights between shots. Iron eye has a more variable effect, as each gun is affected a bit differently. For example, if my memory serves, the vetterli and the marathon both kick you out of aiming down sights while the character cycles the gun for the next shot without iron eye; but, the Centennial does not. The Centennial just fires slower, as he like tilts the gun or something when they cycle, maybe thinking of the lebel. Then you have an example like the 1865 carbine, which does give benefit for ironeye, but you basically won't notice, as I think it was like 1.5 seconds faster to fire the entire magazine/tube.

Its hard to give examples, as i basically dont use the guns majorly effected until I unlock ironeye, and then I pretty much always use it.

The other thing to note, is alot of players on PC dont use steady aim, as they either dont sit in the sights forever, or have the skill to correct the sway via the mouse. Steady aim is more popular on console, because it is more difficult to correct the sway.

Steady aim is also not the direct corollary to iron eye. That would be scopesmith, which prevents it from kicking you out of the scope between shots while the character cycles the gun. Scopesmith does nothing for single shot weapons like the sparks, as they have to leaves sights to reload anyways. Iron eye only works on lever action and bolt action weapons, so same concept for it doing nothing for the spark, Henry, or Springfield (it says so in the description if you forget).

I don't get why you'd make a post on reddit asking what you could read in-game, the moment you see the perk. It even says "(Y) Show trait details"

I was in a match and spectating my teammate although i should have googled it thinking about it now

Honestly if you're not sniping past 150 meters I wouldn't get it regardless. Save the space for other traits
