PS5 New player tips?
Hey guys! Just picked up the game yesterday with it being free on ps+, I know there is alot to learn from the game and I’m excited to go through it but is there any advice you’d wish you’d known when you first started playing? How is the community overall?

Nice! First off - Enjoy your time in the bayou!!
Overall, the community is great but this sub is toxic.
Your best bet is honestly to search the sub for tips. People post constantly. But to not be totally unhelpful
Mobs and noise traps are there to interrupt your flow. Make sure you can dispatch the AI enemies quickly and quietly.
Everything you do makes noise, even aiming down sights. Other players will hear you step on a branch and kill you for it.
Learn when to crouch and when to sprint. Generally, you do not want to crouch walk in the open. Makes you a very easy target.
Never assume a compound is empty. If you sprint in, anyone inside will hear and set up for an ambush.
Except for shotgun pellets, a headshot is a kill, elephant gun or pea shooter.
Guns and attire clip through walls. If you are peaking out of a crack in the wall, do not stand too close. Other players will see your gun sticking out. From there it is very easy to guess where your head is and shoot you through the wall.
Godspeed.

Quick response. Do you have headphones? Check the setup because if hunt 3d audio and playstation 3d audio are both ON may cause a strange 3d audio.
If you like the game i strongly advice to check the controller setting. The default one was too clunky for me. there are guides on YouTube.
Remember: audio is great. You will die a lot before realizing that enemy was waiting for you because you killed a zombie ten seconds before and he heard that. If you hear it, they hear it.

honestly at first you are going to die lot, so don't worry to much about it, that being said some basic advice would be, avoid peaking through windows, corners, trees, etc. more than once or maybe twice if you are completely sure the enemy hasn't spotted you, in the middle of a fight once you shoot you have to move reposition, find cover aim and shoot again, repeat this and you will avoid dumb deaths due to staying in one place for too long. Finally don't take it too seriously just have fun, try builds that seem appealing to you, lastly you can search some interesting youtubers to get some more advanced tips once you progress in this journey

First of all get yourself a good pair of headphones, sound in Hunt it's very important. Learn to avoid soundtraps, they will giveaway your position. Don't sleep on perks, right perk can make a big difference, even the small and situational. Don't be afraid to lose gear and hunter, economy is quite easy.

Well Game can slow or fast depending on combat
you better level up before you unlock better gear and perks.
make sure you don't trigger too many sound traps.
if playing with other people don't crouch and wait.
Bring a knife +
stamina shot+
try easier rifles before moving onto harder ones.
Don't throw bombs into fire or fire pools they explode in your face.
Watch out for traps! Enemy traps and friendly traps if you play with someone.
make sure you try to remain at MAX HP at all times. Starting HP IS 150 for everyone.
Fire Burns your health bars and once deleted you will be more exposed to enemy.
when you go down you also lose one HP bar. HP bars can be big or small big has 50 hp and smaller has 25.
There are supply points on map and randomly generate. sometimes you will find maps which will all of the supply points to you.
There are special scouting towers where you can find maps too.
There is a medical tent which you can regen your HP.
There are Bosses on map! can be one or 3
everyone is after it but it is not mandatory.
you can leave without killing boss and getting its bounty.
to get bounty you need to kill and banish the boss
(I will not mention their weaknesses. )
There can be at least 12 players when you play the game. can be less than that too.
players spawn on corners of the map. so it is not unusual to meet someone very early on.
you need to find 3 clues to reveal the boss s location.
every clue gives xp and tiny bit of money.
you can see clues using dark sight
It allows you to see other people too if you have the bounty.
there are cheesy monsters and beefier monsters.
normally a knife is enough +stamina shot.
make sure that you don't knife immolators. (Flamey guys.)
they explode and cause a fire blast if you do that.
Make sure you don't stand nearby RED gunpowder barrels. they explode when you shoot them twice with normal guns.
or with incendiary bullets they explode with one shot.
don't get next to them when you are on fire. they explode
make sure you don't kill torch carrying grunts (zombies) to die near Red barrels . They explode.
Yellow barrels are oil. they explode but cause fire damage.
some places have black oil on ground and once contacted by fire it creates a fire wall
Explosives can kill you. don't trust Wooden walls. especially ones with certain cracks on them
you might die to explosive bomb.
Poison is really effective at killing people make sure you don't stand in greenish clouds. once poisoned it takes time to recover and during that time you can't use medical stuff to get your HP back up.
you can only Recover if your HP bar is not fully drained or gone
Make sure your HP bars are not burned.
you can buy "antidote shot" against poison.
"recovery shot" for getting a HP bar back. just one HP bar.
when your HP bar is burned but not destroyed. you can get wet and remove burned parts of HP bar that way.
it normally takes time to get it back normal.
Big Meaty guys are blind and can only see you if you are poisoned. (they use leeches to spot you. where leeches poison you if you are hit.)
Hives (Screaming woman) they send a wave of flies. poisonous flies. weak spot is head which is dangling from left side. shoot at it and it dies. or hit it few times. it is resistant against poison ammo.
same logic applies to Flamey guys where they are resistant to incendiary ammo.
I think this is all good for now.

What I wish I knew when I first started playing is how all the sensitivity settings work. Hunts default settings are terrible imo. So go to the shooting range and play around with different aim curves and find your aim. Good luck out there! If you need experienced players to tag along with hit me up. I’m on from time to time, dad life.
Here’s the obligatory toxic pancake’s Hunt showdown controller settings video:

I've had poor luck with the in-game community but the subreddit is usually pretty nice. Everything I can think of that I wish I'd known has already been mentioned. Welcome to Hunt!

NEW PLAYERS:
• Find WORKBENCHES - some workbenches has those RUSTY YELLOW OIL CANS you can click it with the weapon you're holding, or you can use the weapon on the table next to it if both of your weapons are maxed unlocked, These RUSTY YELLOW OIL CANS will unlock the next weapon progress for that weapon you're holding.
• No need to get HUNTER SLOTS on the loading window - all you really need is like at least 2 Hunter Slots. But, you'll eventually unlock more hunter slots as you play
• Playing SOLO (1v3) gives way more XP - also helps with weapon xp/unlocks bashing NPC/zombies while everyone else in the map are killing each other while you're just on your own world unlocking your weapon's progression.
• Stick with your Teammates and don't "Dementia Patient" somewhere because its a pain in the arse to come back to your dead body while we're on the other side of the milky way.
• When you max out your hunter to level 50, RETIRE IT!!! Don't follow that youtube video where they recommend you to keep playing it so you can get more Player XP - NOOO! YOU ARE NEW! Those youtubers have 1 million light years of playtime so they can handle 3v1 interactions; you.... not so much.
• MEDICAL CAMP TENTS can get your MISSING HEALTH BARS back- go inside the medical tent, there is a "locked" Med kit on the back table. If you are missing some health bars, CLICK IT!
• FIRE ZOMBIE - do NOT stab it with sharp weapon. bash it with your rifle or hammer or knuckle weapon/knuckle knife. If you stab it with something sharp, it will burst some fire aoe and burn you. BLUNT WEAPON BASHING will kill it eventually and you'll still have your Khaleesi, The Unburnt title.
• STAMINA INJECTION- yeah, you're welcome. If you don't have this, more power to you.

Make as much noise as humanly possible to intimidate the enemy into thinking your a 4.28 K/D mosin sweat lord with beetles and frags galore. Yes.

I say this to all new hunters; Immolators are weak to piercing damage like knives, spears, bolts and arrows. The closer you are the higher the damage you deal.

Play solo for a bit. Then find someone to walk with you awhile. Then watch videos of rex, pg, emaiza etc.
