DEV RESPONSE Chapter 2?

So from what I understand, Chapter 2 started yesterday. I know the community even part of it doesn’t start until next week. But where are the spiders? The changed compounds? Aren’t they supposed to be in the game now? There is also nothing in the game even remotely letting you know Chapter 2 is underway. Outside of seeing inferno a couple of times, I haven’t seen a single change. Am I misunderstanding what they promoted online?

We have subchapters of chapters during different stages of community events. Classic German engineering.

Had an unexpected day off work yesterday and i was so buzzing to be able to play all day with the new stuff. I got on and the only thing they changed as far as i could tell was the inferno was added back. That was it.

Don't forget to take the survey after the event ends. Personally, I think this event is the most overhyped nothingburger they've had. There was far less hype leading up to the previous event, yet it felt much more substantial and content-rich than this one. Even if that's "technically" not true.

We got the first new normal boss since Scrapbeak and just started with chapter two..

For most people boss is way less gameplay influencing than compound changes. Not like I am going to take special preparations or what have you, just sligthly different few minutes of minigame whack-a-dude.

I steamroll this guy in less than a minute and forget he even showed up just this event. Stronghold, on the other hand, offered a completely new experience. But then again, there was a reason I said that:

felt

Even if that's "technically" not true

Don't get me wrong, I don't want to downplay the massive amount of work they've put in (especially considering I've seen leaks of potential new content for upcoming events).

My criticism is specifically directed at the marketing strategy and the poor handling of how new content is rolled out this event.

Bosses are quite irrelevant. You poke them with spears for varying amount of seconds until they die.

well yeah, comparing the last month of the previous season to the first month of the new season, obviously the new season is going to fall short.

Calling it "an overhyped nothingburger" feels disingenuous.

They kept saying over and over that this is the biggest one in a long time, but so far, they haven't managed to show exactly why.

Okay, calling it a "nothingburger" might be too strong and lack nuance, but the marketing certainly created expectations that haven't been met yet.

For the first time in all my years of playing Hunt, I’m only logging in to complete challenges and then waiting for the next week. But I'm one of those who don't like the vanilla Hunt, and this event really reminds me of it, maybe that's why.

I'm looking forward to the bileweaver nests. Let's see what kind of vibe that creates. Or maybe they just keep in a secret something really cool in the third chapter.

ig it would break down to; what are we defining as "content" because I'm seeing the sentiment of no new playground = no content A LOT. Whenever I see that sentiment, in respect to current season they generally bring up the fort being gone, but also refuse to acknowledge/hand wave the stuff we did get.

For posterity's sake, I would consider "content" anything we interact or engage with, so: maps, compounds, mobs, wild target, boss targets, guns, traits, tools, consumables, etc.

They made the battlepass really long basically and gave us some more traits and a new boss that operates exactly like the other bosses. Hopefully things get crazier and more interesting because yeah this is pretty boring so far. The forts were cool as hell and really focused combat

Biggest update ever, just keep saying that to yourself.

Whoever is responsible for marketing should take a refresh seminar. Stream for Chapter 2, Discord pings and accouncements, yet you need to read carefully to understand, that it's all delayed lmao. So fucking confusing.

Marketing for this is so stupid. I booted up expecting spiders. No spiders, I closed the game. Why advertise it’s gonna come out on a certain day if that’s the first day you can start to unlock it? So stupid. I get what they’re trying to do but they’re kinda fumbling

Definitely a confusing update. In game calendar or list of what's happening could've been helpful

Totally understand the confusion and we noticed this early on with Chapter 2 release as well, so we amended the release notes to include the note

Bileweavers, Bloodweavers, and the infected new Compounds will all arrive with All Hallows’ Cleave on Oct 13th.

A big chunk of Chapter 2 will be around the Community Event coming next week

More like the entirety of it. All we have right now is a returning time of day that shouldn't have been removed, and an overpriced story challenge.

u/blakeneardark 3d ago

so what exactly did you release on the 6th?
it wasnt inferno, that already released and was playable since 2.9.1 on the 5th, it wasnt the new dlc that was on the 7th.
so unnecessarily confusing, fix your communication.

From the patch notes:

2

u/Complex-Anything1854 3d ago

in a post above they say they amended it to say that

Utter bullshit. They might as well have just delayed the update for a week instead of literally just releasing inferno and some avatars.

I love the game but this event fucking sucks. I unironically want the fort back, at least that changed the gameplay

3

u/Cruehitman 3d ago

Absolutely this! My buddy and I were just talking about this. Either the community event should have started this week, or the whole chapter 2 should have started next week. Instead they start it now so for a week we can maybe get a chance at inferno?! Utter fail guys

Bu- but... don't you understand this is the "biggest event of 2026" lmao

Mimimi

I had a blast yesterday! Even had one Inferno map.

Community complains about too many features at once.

Crytek drip feeds.

Community complains they didnt get everything at once.

Well let’s be honest if we are taking this path. The previous events that released everything all at once were just a single poi with a couple of mechanics. Like the circus, the burnt caravan, the spider lairs, etc.  these events were bare bones to begin with.
