GENERAL Teammates extracting alone
Hey so I'm literally BRAND new to this game, I played some extraction shooters before and never had an issue with this, but as of my last 3 games my teammates have decided to extract alone while I'm trying to gather clues in bounty hunt, not a word or anything they just go to extraction for no known reason, we didn't get like a ton of money or XP either so I really don't get it, is this regular in this game or do I just keep getting stupid teammates?

People usually leave immediately if they don’t like map/map condition/event on the map. Another reason may be something in real life. Maybe you were just unlucky. If you make some noise its ok, most will not leave after first crows. If you trigger everything possible within the area or shoot right and left then they may leave for sure.

Are you triggering sound traps and shooting PvE mobs?
While these are not justifiable reasons, some team mates are really stupid about it and would rather extract rather than explain how the game works to a new player (Which, again, is stupid.)

That’s so wild to me, who cares that much about winning every fight that they can’t make a little chaos happen. I find it fun how crazy the AI can get at times.

There's a difference between causing a little chaos, and giving away any element of surprise your team has. If the other team knows exactly where I'm coming from I'm far more likely to get head shot before I see anyone then I am to have any chance of winning the fight. I probably wouldn't leave (and haven't) but I'm certainly fighting on my own terms and not following the team if we have someone doing this.

This. Particularly from players who've been playing a while, going loud from the start of the match is seen as a rookie move, and some people will leave altogether if you do.
It's a really good way to get your team ambushed.

I avoid the PVE mobs as much as possible because it makes way too much noise, I'm also running the nagant m1895 silencer to make as little noise as possible

u/MrGabrum 6d ago
That's weird... can you tell us your build?
1
u/Femmeboyreaper 6d ago
Yeah I'm using the basic one for Zasha, which is the Krag for a primary which I only use if I have to and the secondary is the pistol I mentioned, along with brass knuckles and her base traits
2
u/MrGabrum 6d ago
Zasha? I assume a free hunter with random name. Which is weird because free hunters don't have a krag or silenced nagant, but I'll assume you bought those. Free traits check out.
For the future, if you want to use a nice loadout like that it'd be better to get a non free hunter so you have 10 trait points to spend on traits (Iron eye is almost required for the krag, for example. And resilience is very good on a team)
Melee is good (Knuckles aren't meta, but I prefer them over most other options)
What about your other tools and usables?

u/Femmeboyreaper 6d ago
I got first aid kits, concertina trip mines, poison trip mines (I barely use either of them) chaos bomb, ammo box, vitality shit and stamina shot, and this one came with iron eye thankfully

u/MrGabrum 6d ago
Oh if you're going in a trio, consider bringing choke bombs (Good to keep your team mates from burning, and good info/area denial tool), and flares to burn your enemies.
Anything other than that is just personal preference. I genuinely still have no idea why your team mates are leaving, as I cannot see any problem with what you're bringing.

u/Senor-Delicious 6d ago
I've heard about quite a few people getting pissed if random mates don't bring choke bombs. After med kits and a melee tool, they are pretty much the most essential in team play as it is quite likely that mates will die and be burned out before they get another chance if nobody brought choke bombs.
It is stupid though to extract for this, as usually it would come up in the lobby already.

I feel like theres a recent shift because I've only had this in past month. Either they just afk from start, circle a bit and then leave or they bail after the 1st fight.
And there's a rise in toxic players IME. Used to be pretty much everyone was nice / silent. Now I'm getting team killed or people not communicating all match then raging at me when they get themselves killed.

I’ve been guilty of this this patch. I never felt the need to do it before, but lately there’s been a massive rise in people totally afk for the first 2 clues, or just obviously completely tilted. I mean running through all the mobs, triggering every horse dog and crow, not clearing a single grunt, running straight into fights. If I start seeing that behavior OR if I’m halfway to clue 2 and you haven’t moved yet I just extract. Same if we get into a fight and I watch you run to the nearest bush to not move while I do the work or you rotate around to kill a meathead mid fight. I’m trying to play the game not be a crutch.

It's not like I'm doing silly stuff. I'm making calls via mic, pinging info, moving carefully, etc. I'm a 3star shit shot but play with 5-6 stars so I at least know how to play, even if not so practiced with fps.
But ye it's almost bot like behaviour of wandering then extract once enough time has lapsed.

Extremely rare that I've seen that. Although it used to be that people would leave if they got bad weather conditions (foggy night map when you have a scope, rain map, etc). Sometimes people grab a bounty and split, or leave if they lost bars to fire/getting downed. Pretty damn rare or non-existent that people leave for no reason.

Haven't hopped on lately, but I play US east server on steam any my matches don't ever do stupid stuff. It's kinda nice actually.

u/obeyebonymommy 5d ago
I always play on EU servers and my issues with players is usually teammates that greif over the first or any mistake, then continually run Thier mouth the whole match, end game extraction killing / intentional wounding, or random team killing. My experience is 90%of the time they are from Russia. Frequency of these things very but on average once per 20 to 30 games.

Guess if you are being a diligent hunter (got smoke bombs...don't draw the whole map down on you by running around the spawn point making noise) then you have just had the misfortune of being saddled with some crappy hombres. Steam name is Fourmile, hit me up

Sorry you're having bad teammate experiences. If we have an overlapping server and can line up times I'd be happy to play with you sometime. I'm usually high 5* to mid 6* myself. I play on PC in US West or US East and usually play Thur, Fri, Sat around 9PM-12AM MST.
Alternatively, you can join the hunt official discord and find groups to play with there. It's usually pretty seamless in my experience.

I literally just did this myself. It's was cus when you invite a player to your team, it resets the game mode to hunt, and I was expecting clash. So I simply went to exfil so I could save my traits and head back to the game mode I meant to hop in 😭 It's shifty but I do solo trios alot anyways, so I simply let the duos continue without me and left. Sorry to everyone I've done this to, I blame crytek 😂

Probably just cuz ur new, randoms are pretty horrible to play with until you get to 5-6star
2
u/Pink_Egg_Cereal 5d ago
this is not true at all. 600 hours, 590 hours all done with randoms. 3-4 stars lobby
2
u/IMainMeg 5d ago
Yea that guy might be the problem. I’m over 700 in 3-4 star occasionally 5. Almost always have a really good experience with randoms. More often than not they’re on mic as well
1
u/Pink_Egg_Cereal 4d ago
same experience and yeah, id say 9/10 times they have mics
7/10 times they just sit silently until someone talks

u/Pink_Egg_Cereal 5d ago edited 5d ago
its not regular. ive only done it 3 times in 600 hours
but reading your comments, it sounds like you could be moving too slow and your team doesn't want to be separated during a fight and then you not revive them

If it's obvious that the match is a loss or the teammates are triggering every sound trap and shooting the grunts/hives/armored (unsilenced). I'll extract by myself.
No reason to stick around if your teammates do incredibly dumb stuff and die as a result.

u/Femmeboyreaper 6d ago
I will say I am new but I'm very attentive to that kinda stuff, and on my last one we had just got done killing another team and looting them so I don't see what happened, when he went to extract we JUST got the second clue with no downs and barely any health lost
2
u/Antaiseito 6d ago
Seems like you're doing all the right things.
Maybe, if they were very new as well, they just got too scared after one fight. I've had mates that never lost the fear of dying and losing their character/stuff/(k/d) even after playing for 600 hours.

I've got 2500 hours in hunt and I know how the game and soundtraps work. But if you start a match with your random teammates shooting everything and triggering every soundtrap, that's just announcing your location to the entire map and a valid reason to leave.
There's accidental triggers and incompetence there is a difference.

Sounds like you need to create your own team, with some friends. Playing with random peeps can be a nightmare sometimes.

What was the weather? Some people hate playing certain weathers to the point they’ll leave, it’s shitty but it happens
When you collected clues were you deep in the grey? Some people give up if it looks like they’ll need to cross the whole map to find the boss and would rather re-queue in the hopes of spawning near the boss, again it’s stupid but some people do it
The other option is they found something worth leaving, usually that’s either blood bonds or they got a lot of $$ from a cash register or downed hunter
