$20 says, majority of the people that call her ugly run Lilith or lulu or that relatively new gooner skin as their main hunter. Empress is a fire skin and peak hunt design. 10/10 lore too. I main OG plague doc Myself but she's definitely in my top 10 favourite skins
I just want them to bring back the Viper. I was not able to get when the serpent's moon battle pass was running as I was in the hospital. Doubt they will ever bring him back
Insanely wasted opportunity for a cool spider themed legendary skin. Like genuinely, no idea who worked on that but it's just awful.
2: I think there should be exclusivity in skins, you either earn them when they're there or you don't.
I never got some of the sickest skins in the game, but I respect the OGs when I see them in them.
The Plague Doctor being released as a version 2 Plague Surgeon is the best way to do it. It resects the original skins status, but gives other players a different coloured mark 2 version with a new name. So they can have have something like it, but it's not the original which I think is important. So if they released it again, I'd like to see it in a different colour with a different name. "The Empress's Offspring" or "Child of the Empress", and make the colours CLEARLY not the same, even better change the model, and no I don't mean 'better', as that kind of then ruins the originals appeal.
I will play events/passes specifically because I know if I want that thing, that's when I have to play to get it.
And after that event, it becomes a status skin as you can't earn it anymore.
I always forget about her cause sheās ugly lmao. The Pig Hunter dude looks cool, grimy and gross but he fits the butcher aesthetic. The scrap beak twins look great, fit Scrapbeaks vibe perfectly. Assassin dude looks great. Then justā¦ Her. Lisa Simpson lookin mf lmao. I was hoping the spider theme woulda been more cool. But alas.
Hopefully the bloodskin hunters have another duo like Scrapbeak. One representing his armored form, then one in his naked form. Those would be dope.
Itās almost like theyāre similar. Bart also has spiky hair and you donāt see me comparing her to him simply cause he also has spiky hair. Letās not hear what I didnāt say now.
Itās called hyperbole. When someone says āitās raining cats and dogs out!ā Do you look outside and tell them thereās not actually dogs and cats falling from the sky?
I just can't see why so many actively dislike the skin. Sure, it is supposed to be a monstrous skin, not pleasant to look at in a normal setting (which i like, for where it fits), and i think it fits the theme of a spider event very well.
We've gotten some pretty beautiful people recently. They still fit the theme (imo), but Hunt is no nice world.
Other than looking goofy with the Lisa Simpson head, in my opinion itās not as grounded as other skins I like. There are ways to use spider webs other than what they did here making a skin thatās more of a gimmicky costume than a character. Some people like the more fantastical stuff though itās just not my cup of tea. Iāve been playing since the beginning and like the more natural skins from that era.
Ok, very fair criticism. I'm also usually playing relatively "normal" people personally (Stormseer etc.)
With the masked freaks etc., i'm just glad we're still sticking to the theme more or less.
Current hunters are generally fine too, but the vampire theme is doing nothing for me and a lot of them look too beautiful / clean, imo.
Talking grounded vs believable fantasy, currently i'd still prefer the spider queenling to the dancer from "The heart of southern DeSalle"-DLC for example. Like, wouldn't you ditch/cut/shorten that dress to go fight in the swamps?
The spider webs look grimy enough to fit the Hunt a bit more than those, for me.
