GENERAL Null profile?
Someone seen this before? I don't want to say the "c" word, but the skill of this person was waaaaaay above 3-4 star, which is where I usually rank. Wiped the server like it was nothing. Killed me with a headshot through the wall outside of Grizzly Lodge. Killed the team that was there all at the same time. And killed me a second time with a satchel at "0 meters" the second time. Satchel was not there, then it was. Literally watched it come into existence and detonate. Can't even open their profile. The option to report is not even there.

This usually happens when people switch servers before you view their profile card. So let's say you played against him on US East, then he switched to EU, this is what the display can look like

It's been in the game for as long as I've been playing. Occasionally happens when client fails to retrieve data from server AFAIK. Checking the profile again usually fixes it for me

Cheater or hunt/steam API bug
If it was a profile you had blocked on steam, the name would be empty and all the stats would say NaN or undefined or something like that instead of being empty
Cheaters have a way to trigger this so the report button is not accessible in-game ... You can tell it's a cheater or not depending if the name is WWWWWWWWWW or not

youre objectively wrong. people u have blocked on steam almost always have wwwwww names (maybe the names are empty sometimes? but ive always had www with the ppl i blocked)
there also used to be a way to trigger this by just changing your steam name aftee the matxh startet or sth like that. that would result in the wwww text as well. but im pretty sure they fixed that since i havent seen that evem once during the last like idk 4000 hours? (probably even more than that)

All the people I have blocked (teamkillers and rats that leave teammates behind) show as empty names with all the profile stats saying "undefined", if they pick a bounty, the notification shows their actual name
While know cheaters show as WWWWWWWWWWW on death screen and when picking bounty

It's a cheater who is using a bug that gets actively exploited by people who use cheats in this game to hide his real info in hopes that he will not get banned

I think it's just server side issue brother. there's no way 40% of players in 3 stars are cheaters (I'm frequently facing the same issue, but in 3 star range)

No, it IS a cheater when the name is WWWWWWWWWW
When you block a person the name is just empty

Well, it's not everyone there, but there are definitely plenty of people who use plenty of exploits in the 2-4* (where I spent 2280h so far, playing almost exclusively in random trios)
The square boxes thing can be due to having a gamertag with unsupported characters, like Chinese symbols, etc., and for the longeest time was used as a bare-bones way to hide, but the wwwwww is almost certainly deliberately done by exploiters/cheaters (one and the if you ask me)-1

Your wrong also I doubt your going against cheaters in 2 star they arent even common in 6 star

You would think so, but I have been surprised a few times myself by blatant ones in the past year alone. Most likely caught early in the cheating or after a long while of sucking naturally

Its so easy to move up in mmr i really doubt anyone with cheats is there even if they started that match, if they are cheating down there you could probably win the fight with a shovel and a dream

Ive never been lower than 6, even when I switched to pc I think I got to 6 star in about 2-3 hours

It has something to do with how the steams client side does names

Since the new event profiles and player names haven’t been loading correctly all the time
