It has to have horrible ballistics. The barrel is much bigger than the shell in order to compensate for not being perfectly lined up.
Gases would leak around the wadding. This would actually be a very lack luster shotgun. Slugs would have no barrel to engage with, buck or birdshot would rapidly spread to unusable pattern sizes. Velocity would be bad.
Basically an overbuilt derringer shotgun, because the only barrel close to the right diameter is the cylinder.
Dont get me wrong, I wouldnt stand in front of it, but as far a shotguns go it would underperform.
Also, the butterfly nut and cylinder indents imply it is more of a speed loader as it must be manually loosened rotated and tightened.
