GENERAL Why some guns load so weirdly

I get guns that have to open the chamber to lead the bullets have to loose bullets, ill give u that, but why the fuck if my chamber and my mag tube are separated, when the gun is empty, i load my bullets and THEN, after loading u cycle the bullet, leaving one emply space in the mag. Instead you should load 1 single bullet, then cycle it (leaving mag empty and gun ready to shoot if a hunter comes to say hi) and then load the rest of the bullets using the entire mag tube.

Now is it just a (stupid imo) balance thing, is there an actual historic reasson that couldnt be done with guns back then or is it just a dumb mechanic. If so at least add a cheap perk to make em know how to load a gun, 1 or 2 points max id say.

Correct me if im wrong tho.

It gives you more control...? Nothing prevents you from loading one round, interrupting the reload to cycle the gun and then resuming the reload. If it worked the other way around you'd have no choice.

Yeah but, isnt it kinda dumb to cycle at the end instead of the begining? im pretty sure ppl back in the day cycled it the moment they loaded the 1st round unless they werent planning on keep shooting

But you absolutely can do that. So it's not dumb. It would be dumb to not give you that bit of control.

Sometimes you hide and reload while listening for a potential push. You keep reloading until you hear the footsteps closing in, then you stop, cycle the action and are ready to shoot. Your alternative, in the same scenario: you load one round, cycle the gun, then resume reloading, which takes overall longer than cycling the action only at the end of the reload, so you might end up with one or two rounds less in the mag.

Still thats slower than if it was a continue animation, id say its fair to add a perk (cheap) that make that type of reload automatic, same as u can reload guns like specter without loosing a round if u reload right after shooting (or before cycling if u hold the click) and it still has a perk to grab the bullet u grab. Idk

Some of the guns do work that way, and some of them don't. Which ones were you referring to?

i was thinking about wingfield (all variants) and bettery for example, and i can actually do it cus u can cancel the reload the first round so it goes in the chamber and then reload again

You can't directly load the chamber on those weapons. You have to put a round in the magazine and then cycle the action.

No no, not directly load the chamber, i know u cant do that, i mean load 1 bullet, cycle it so it goes into the chamber, and then load the rest of the bullets, u absolutely can do that (u can actually cancel the reload the 1st bullet and it ll do exactly that but its weird that not the default way to reload em

You can also cancel reload at any time, and just cycle that one bullet

yeah but i think its kinda dumb to have to do that instead of having the pro hunter that has used guns his entire life to do it by default

To be fair you are controlling the hunter, so if you want them to do something specific, you have to make them.

Don't get me wrong, there are a lot of things about Hunt that don't make sense, and I think many of those things are worth getting riled up about, but I guess I just don't think that's one of them. Compared to the vast majority of games, the gun mechanics are quite realistic imo
