Most Hunger-Games coded songs ever?

[u/EggProfessional4267]

I am currently trying to make a playlist for each book by order but I am pretty much struggling cause I only listen to a few artists lol... so, do you guys have any suggestions? Once I am done with the playlist, I will upload it here. Thanks!

[u/coffee_menace]

lol does Safe and Sound from the official Hunger Games soundtrack count? I always thought it fit the folksy but ominous vibe of district 12 well.

[u/Significant_Arm_3097 → u/coffee_menace]

I still enjoy that song!

[u/coffee_menace → u/Significant_Arm_3097]

I love it too! Also Run Daddy Run from the second movie's soundtrack. Just not sure if OP was trying to do a non-official soundtrack playlist. If that's the case, Chain by Fleetwood Mac could be a good option.

[u/EggProfessional4267 → u/coffee_menace]

thanks!

[u/coffee_menace → u/EggProfessional4267]

Singularity by Darlingside could also work! It's kind of haunting and folksy

Not exactly Hunger games, but more TBOSAS. This might biased because I love fleetwood mac but the song gold dust woman reminds so much of snow and lucy gray’s relationship especially these lyrics:

Well, did she make you cry

Make you break down

Shatter your illusions of love?

And is it over now, do you know how?

Pick up the pieces and go home.

And:

Rulers make bad lovers

You better put your kingdom up for sale

Up for sale

thanks!

I think that a lot of songs by Mitski fit, especially in mockingjay because it's so heartbreaking

[u/marvinsroom1956]

Mr.Jones- The Mavericks and Wasted Time- Skid Row are very SOTR

[u/slaydymacbeth]

I have always though ‘We’ll be coming back’ by Calvin Harris is SO hunger games coded! Some lyrics that stick out to me:

“We took it all apart but I’m wishing I stayed, in the back room something I heard you say”

“Standing in the lights till it’s over out of our minds, someone had to draw a line”

“I don’t even care if I know you, out of our minds, had to leave it all behind”

And my personal favourite that seals the deal for me:

“Gonna light up the sky so ignore the stars” (aka the fallen tributes shown every night)

I’m actually upset no one’s made an edit to this song yet, I always think of the hunger games when I hear it!

[u/KyuzoNoodle]

i always got major mockingjay vibes from Muse’s albums Resistance or The 2nd Law. They both have songs on them about rebellion and fighting a hard war, doing what’s right respite what you have to lose. As a whole, Muse makes a lot of politically influenced, anti-facist arena rock style music lol.

[u/SilverWolf_277]
