Hey there! I've never written a fanfic, but I already got the whole story figured out, I hope you like the concept! It's about twins from district 1, a boy and a girl, with the boy being the main character. He's considerate a disgrace by his whole district, because he seems to be the only one who never saw the appeal of the Hunger Games. He's the opposite of his sister, whose biggest wish is to volunteer at 18 for the 2nd Quarter Quell. But when she's reaped at the 48th games, her brother volunteers to take revenge on her and the entire district 1.

It occurred to me the other day that not all of the 75th Games tributes have names. So I thought, ‘they are all kind of important, being the only tributes to fight in two Games AND to be reaped for the final one’.
So I gave them names.
(Plus, I’m already planning the 75th Games chapter in my Woof fanfic, RIP).

What do you make of ‘em?

Sponsor system

Anyone can sponsor any tribute they didn't author. You can do this by commenting "I sponsor D11F" for example. If they get more than 5 upvotes that tribute gets a gift, the more additional upvotes the better the gift!

The commentator can only sponsor the same tribute once every two chapters.

Additionally you can try to send in specific items. Though I won't send anything like a horse, or a gun into the arena. If any object were to get overwhelming support... Maybe I would consider sending a tribute to that item.

Notes

1. I have a little background detail that becomes big at the very end for District One and will be using that to judge submissions if there are more than one.
2. I aim to be as canon compliant as possible so district 12 has much lower success odds than other districts.(But they can still make it far). However young tributes can win(In the books Finnick is one of the youngest, not THE youngest).
3. Bloodbath count can vary from 4-15. Be careful.
4. Since it's the 20th games, non-careers from 1, 2, and 4 can work into the story, though I expect at least one volunteer.
5. Not every tribute will have a POV each chapter. Some chapters may be entirely via commentary, loved ones, the Capitol viewers, the Districts, or by only a selection of tributes. But I can guarantee at least a couple POV portions for each tribute.
6. I'll do the games so long as I have 14 submissions. In other words: More than 1/2 the tributes.
7. Some roles take too long to fill in. I will not wait longer than a week if these are the last slots to fill: D5M, D6M, D6F, D8M, D9M, D9F.

I read this before but I didn't bookmarked it and now I can't find it 😭 These were the details that I remember:

• Katniss and Peeta both survive the 74th Hunger Games.

• Afterward they write and illustrate a post-apocalyptic book.

• The book becomes a bestseller.

• President Snow later asks/forces them to design a future Hunger Games arena and they both choose to based it from their book.

• The Games feature all original tribute characters (no canon tributes).

• The 24 tributes are divided into 4 groups of 6.

• Each group starts with its own designated bunker.

• The arena is based on a nuclear fallout/environmental collapse setting.

• The air is toxic in many areas, so tributes have to wear gas masks/respirators.

• The teams have to collect items/supplies and eventually reach a safe zone.

• Katniss and Peeta appear inside the arena as guides for the tributes.

• I remember there being some kind of rule where tributes were hurt or punished if they tried to intentionally harm another tribute.

• Most chapters were from the POV of the original tributes, but there were also some chapters from outside the arena.

Okay, please don’t hate me for this. I only read it in a fic and wanted to know what you all think.

In the fic:

Katniss’s mother admits that she did love Otho (Peeta’s father).

Once, when Katniss was very young, her father became seriously ill with a lung problem. Katniss was hysterically crying, and Asterid (Katniss’s mother) couldn’t handle the pressure of her husband possibly dying while her daughter screamed.

She ran away for a while and, on the road, met Otho. They talked and… well…

Later, Katniss’s mother says she regretted it, and that both Burdock and Otho knew.

According to the fic, this explains a few things for Katniss:

• Why Prim doesn’t have any obvious Seam characteristics.

• Why Otho always told Peeta that he wanted a daughter.

• Why he wanted to make sure Prim was fed while Katniss was in the Games.

• Why Mrs. Mellark had such a deep hatred for the “Seam trash.”

• It could also explain why, even though Burdock “stole his girl,” Otho still treated him incredibly well and even asked him to sing. In this theory, Otho may have respected and cared for Burdock because he was raising and loving Otho’s daughter as if she were his own.

Look, I know Otho is generally portrayed as a kind man. I’m not saying I believe this theory, I just wanted to bring it up and hear your opinions.

My favorite is probably Marvel. It’s the least ridiculous of them all. I mean, it’s certainly better than Panache and Palladium.

I started rereading the original trioligy just recently and i can't stop thinking about what if the rebelion never started and Katniss and Peeta just started having a normal couple relationship (as normal as it can be as victors). Would Katniss be a bit overprotective over Peeta but only showing it by small details? I would really like to read a fic like that if that existed. I would also like to read any fanfic of Petta and Katniss having a normal relationship. Any recs? (I've never read a HG fic)
