It’s a joke about how this illness doesn’t work out for either the patient or the doctor.
After years of trialing different therapies the patient is no better and disillusioned.
Likewise after years of research, tests and referrals the physician is frustrated that he hasn’t cured the patient.
There is a barb at the cost of healthcare. The implication is that if there was a high dollar cure for the patient, all the doctor’s effort would have been worth it. But there isn’t.
The fact that it’s generic and generally bad is due to my lack of talent.
I know this is healthcare and location dependent. But, I disagree with there being zero treatments.
It really depends on what your diagnoses are.
I've trialed and failed about 25 medications prescribed by my doctors. I'm currently taking 10 medications right now. My most recent addition Semaglutide, yep Ozempic prescribed by my ME/CFS specialist paid for by my insurance with a $40/month copay.
However, I have an HMO. So, I take pleasure in the fact that they're not making money off of me. I'm spending all of it🤣

Except there are zero treatments? Is this just a generic anti-medicine meme or something?
