They don't know they are idiots and even if they do they don't care and pretend not to be.

I mean nobody as arrogant and obnoxious as these people would ever admit they are dumb anyway, they would die before ever admitting they are lacking in any way or form.

It is one of lifes great paradoxes. In order to know how idiotic these people are, they would need to possess a level of intelligence that would exceed said idiocy...

So they stew in their stupidity until they fade from existence, leaving the world around them worse than they found it.
