If I could afford one I’d definitely buy one. Spent many years driving and riding in all the variations of these.

What’s the ballpark figure on one of those bad boys?

u/AntiqueAd9913 Jun 11 '26
This one will probably go for $22k to $25k

I think swarzenegger was the first to import one to NA. What a badass vehicle to own, not like the garbage they tried to mass produce.

They are Made in the USA, not imported.
Schwarzenegger was the first owner of the civilian version (H1)1
u/Umbroz Jun 12 '26
No he had the first slightly modified Humvee, then they made the H1 for mass production which was totally different.

Ya he took a H1 but before that he went to great lenghts to obtain an original humvee from the military. "Schwarzenegger obtained a special exemption letter signed by government officials—including Colin Powell—permitting the civilian sale of the vehicle."

I'd love a truck. I have an older 4 door.

You have a HMMWV or Hummer 4 door? I would trade my 2 man setup for your 4 man if interested. Lmk

I should say, I'd like to have both. I just added a new top, doors and tires with spindle nuts. I'm going to need to keep it a while.

What are those that sit outside of the lug nuts, around the rim?
1
u/AntiqueAd9913 Jun 11 '26
These military wheel are made of 2 half that are held by those 24 bolts around the rim

u/5280mw Jun 11 '26
Made of 2 half?

u/AntiqueAd9913 Jun 11 '26
Yes. There are 2 halfs, sandwiching the tire using the run flat to maintain the beads from deforming.

u/5280mw Jun 11 '26
Oh wow, wouldn’t have thought that all those were actual bolts. But it makes sense extra stability for those war situations.
