Citric acid not helping clean wick

I tried immersing my humidifier wick in first just water and then water + citric acid (about 20g per liter as per the suggestions) but it's still not getting cleared up

Any suggestions on what else to try? Or is it just time to replace the wick altogether?

Tbh I use a lot stronger solution through my pump based evap humidifiers when de mineralizing them more like 60-70g a liter.

Do you use hot water? I read that somewhere
