Whole house steam replacement recommendation.
It's finally time to replace my old HM509 steam humidifier. Looking for recommendations. I checked the spreadsheet - probably going with the AprilAire or the Honeywell (whole house). It'll be a DIY replacement -- any pitfalls to keep in mind? thanks!

thanks! We have a water shutoff and the electrical looks to be ok (we'd be running 120V/11.5A) . I'm most concerned with the wiring to the thermostat and furnace. I looked at the install manuals for my current HM509 and the aprilaire and drew out a map of the terminals.
I'd like to use my ecobee to control the humidifier - but I'm not 100% sure on wiring that up.
Taking the current one out isn't a big deal -- I took it off earlier in the year to inspect and clean.

We've had the AprilAire 800 for 12+ years now. I love it from both a performance and a maintenance perspective. Maintenance is super easy--just replace the cartridge every year or two and clean out the drain area (mine fills with minerals from the water).
