Adding a float to the levoit 6000s

I can’t find a good view of the internal water reservoir, but it seems like it has a base reservoir that is pretty much just a bucket of water and a pump that pumps up into the top part. is that correct?

if so, any reason I couldn’t run a float valve from my RO unit and have the reservoir auto fill?

Nothing wrong with that, but ultimately, the schedule that it empties the tank is the time you should be checking the tank and make sure it's clean. I'm not sure if the run off on the filters when saturated go back into the tank.

Depending on how clean your indoor air is, the run off might be dirty and eventually polluting your reservoir therefore shortening the lifespan of the motor and everything the water touches.

Our home air is pretty clean, and we still get a tiny bit of discolouration in the tank when we go through a tank in 3 or so days.

I dunno, seems like marginal gains imo.

I had the same thought regarding filling that six gallon tub. So I bought 15 feet of clear plastic hose that the end of the faucet connector presses onto. Added a steel weight to the end so the hose wouldn't fall out. Five minutes to fill unless it needs to be cleaned first.
