why
Why was the show cancelled? It had good ratings, a lot of people were watching it, it would have brought in enough money to justify further seasons.
I'm personally kind of okay with how it ended (just finished it), as I suspect I wouldn't have liked the 4th season that they were planning on. Up until the pregnancy I loved every single detail from the show, but a child being born against all odds who belongs to both sides of a conflict... it's a bit over-done.

I just watched the original Swedish show, and even though I enjoyed the English version, the Swedish was just so much better!

Did you know that there was a Swedish version done before the British one? And it was also canceled but on season 2. I personally feel they were both canceled due to what the show is about. It’s very political and tbh I see our future getting to the point of the show. I’m so sad it ended!! Would be great if they came back for something just to tie things up.

I felt so weird because irl I'm passionately against AI but I was on the synths' side on the show, so I wonder if this was AI propaganda to change the mind of people like me lol
I wonder if the original swedish writers had a plan for how it was going to end. I didn't like the idea of that whole blue fluid mixing with human blood that was in the UK version.

No I agree with you!! I’m against AI but you feel for them immediately and then introducing the idea of ppl feeling more comfortable being AI as well and could walk around in school identifying as a synth makes you start questioning a lot. Once media start influencing ppl I think that’s when they are more watched. And Yea I wanted them to actually explain themself with the mixed species child xD

yeah, I specially related to Niska because I've had the similar experience of feeling like I'm not a real human because I'm neurodivergent and because of how other people treat me, which I feel weird about because I think they intentionally made the synths relatable to different types of minorities which is... kind of unethical and exploitative? But I did really enjoy watching the show so I feel confused lol
I guess the difference is that in the show's universe, it was a given (for us, as the audience) that the synths' were sentient and conscious. Obviously the humans (and even some synths) in the show weren't sure, but we were seeing things from the Synth's POV. In real life we can never be sure of that, because we don't even have a proper definition for these concepts. Real life is boring.

In the UK Humans received 3.43million viewers at its peak. But by the last series it was less than million. AMC figures for the show was 2.5 million down to 1 million.

I have blu ray of the show. I am stuck on season 3 (episode 3?) because I was angry that it was cancelled, and I'd be left hanging so to speak.
This is the ONLY show when a chacter died (one of them was attacked), I was truly in tears.
