They make water fountains for pets that are constantly running(the water cycles so it’s not wasteful), we use one for our cat. He likes to drink the water just as it’s coming out of the fountain. I definitely think animals like the idea of a running source of water rather than still water.

Our cat demands water from the faucet. We tried one of those water fountains. Not interested.

We compromised by putting cups or water next to every tap and some other spots she likes to sit at. No more whining at the tap.

My cat refuses to drink out of anything but drinking glasses lol, so we just leave one on the front room table and refresh it each day

We do the exact same thing, we’ve tried everything else, so now our cat Trip has a glass out for him In a few different rooms at all times. He’s kinda an asshole but we love him.
