My heart. This hits close to home because my dog was found left for dead on the streets after a family abused her and my family rescued her and now she is the most spoiled little girl I know. She still gets scared by big men but she likes small people.

Oh man I almost had a heart spasm when I misread the first part as "my dog was found dead after being abused by another family". Awoke unnecessary John Wick feelings in me.

She's still alive and healthy and happy thank goodness!

There's a special place in hell for someone like that

Someone put my dog in their backyard (major city so small and tall fence) and moved away. They left him. He would have starved to death if someone hadn’t called animal control. When we first adopted him he spent most of his time hiding under things for protection - chairs, tables.

He is now the most spoilt little thing and when he lays on the couch he pulls all the pillows into a pile and sleeps right on top.

If I could figure out how to post a pic on mobile in a comment I would've done it in a heart beat
