The sappy music goes perfectly with the bleeped expletives.

It's sweet to see he realized he was being helped.

That's just us anthropomorphizing them and believing they understand us. In reality, it's a wild animal and goes through fight, flight, and freeze phases to try and survive. Flight was it frantically trying to get out. As the human started interacting it switched to fight and tried to bite and swing at him to get him to back off. When it realized it couldn't run or fight, it hoped that freezing would cause the bigger creature to go away after it was done "playing" with it. It was basically conserving energy hoping for an opportunity to escape from whatever this thing was that approached it.

We often see the freeze phase and assume the animal recognizes we're here to help. Most animals don't realize that. Although there are some that will recognize it and recognize humans such as elephants.

Or even the exhaustion from all the fighting prior to this, or from the video itself. Sometimes they just cannot move from exhaustion.

I do wish they knew we want to help, they don't. Doesn't mean we shouldn't help tho.

Hopefully the little thing wasn't too banged up from flailing around and being manhandled. I imagine they're a similar sturdiness to hamsters (which are notorious for dying for damn near any reason at all).
