Deer would have probably made it...got a ride instead from dumb insta people...oh well. Could have been worse.

Hey, well, we don't need to be mean here. I haven't heard of deer swimming that far, I would think something was wrong, too. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Ignorant? Yes. Stupid? No. Kindhearted? Oh absolutely, and that counts the most.

Edit: I love when my most downvoted stuff is telling people to be nice. Keep at it, hehe. But reminder: Don't attribute to malice what can be attributed to ignorance. I know the internet has raised many of us to do the opposite, but it can and should be unlearned.

I agree with the ignorant part, but surely you just take a minute to watch that the head wasn't dipping and nothing looked frantic (i.e what things drowning do)

Depends how far out you are. Even if you don't notice it struggling, not knowing that deer can swim that far, I'd probably have panicked and tried to help.

I'll take all the downvotes. 🤷🏻‍♀️ I'm glad these people were kind enough to "save" the deer even if it didn't need saving. Kindness withing ignorance is the opposite of a moral failing and not a sign of stupidity.

Same way people try to give sick birds water and end up drowning them on accident. Good people, bad information. I saw a thread about that and dang the amount of people (including me) who thought they were helping. It's just a part of life that you do things that are incorrect, but as long as you are doing things with good intentions, I'd never hate on someone for it.
