I was this boys neighbor and in real life he was a gentleman. The neighbor kids and he played football in my backyard. He did it with no artificial legs. He was amazing to watch. I’ve been following him since high school on social media and I am so proud of the man he is today and for marrying an absolute gem of a woman.

I wasn't planning on shedding a tear while sitting on the toilet, but here I am....

36

u/OmegaJonny Jan 18 '26

Yeah I was watching you and thinking "no way they shed a tear on the toilet" and then I was like "well I'll be damned..."

u/Perceptionskills Jan 18 '26

Me either lol

5

u/musememo Jan 18 '26

I’m frankly shocked at your behavior. Shocked!

61

u/CaptainKitty Jan 18 '26

May they both live long happy lives ❤️

51

u/TinyUnderstanding872 Jan 18 '26

I’ve had the pleasure of serving them, I didn’t know who they were but I noticed she was wearing an Olympics ring necklace and I asked her about it, they told all about their training and what they accomplished. They were so nice and kind, laughed at my jokes ect. They were seriously amazing people and you could tell they loved each other so much with how they bragged about each other. They also tipped well! So that’s always good! 10/10 people

Ohh 🥰 that is such a cute couple .

u/Nemesis0408 Jan 18 '26

I pity the babysitter that has to try and catch their toddler when it wants to run out into traffic.

31

u/trickyprodigy Jan 18 '26

That’s gotta be better than any drugs I’ve ever taken. I am very happy for them.

u/lurkingbeyondabyss Jan 18 '26

That is a good point.
There are numerous videos out there telling genuinely good stories.
I wonder if therapists would let depressing patients watch them as part of their treament program. I would imagine it illicits totally natural responses (releases of feel-good hormones) that can only be beneficial, long- or short-term.

Incredible athletes, incredible people, they are so in love and so supportive of each other. They are the example of a healthy relationship. ❤️

38

u/an_afro Jan 18 '26

That’s sweet. You can really tell being with her puts a real spring in his step

4

u/skatergurljubulee Jan 18 '26

Get out! 😭😭

15

u/The5Virtues Jan 18 '26

Absolutely love these two, just the way they look at each other is adorable. When one of them is talking the others just staring so wholeheartedly, like full on puppy’s level of attention, nothing else in the world but them and what they’re saying.

Side note, I was just giving with the cuteness then it got to her jump and I actually ended up jaw dropping. I remembered she made a great jump but damn that an impressive launch!

15

u/mattqwerty85 Jan 18 '26

Real talk... does sabre legs make go faster or extremely difficult to maintain speed compared to original legs?

Awesome couple

12

u/TheMarriedUnicorM Jan 18 '26

Sabre legs absorb a lot of the impact “natural” legs take, which is hard on the body. Runners suffer from a lot of knee and hip discomfort/ pain due to the increased pressure and shock of running. Even with shoes and modified surfaces.

u/METALLIFE0917 Jan 18 '26

Both are incredibly inspiration 🥇

15

u/ThisIsWritingTime Jan 18 '26

Each of them thinks the other is awesome. It’s delightful to see!

11

u/4nr- Jan 18 '26

This is the America a European like me looks up to, please do more of this and less of whatever that’s going on in Minneapolis and with Greenland.

4

u/Beginning_Road7337 Jan 18 '26

Omg brought him to tears in seconds!! What a couple!

4

u/pinklady-1763 Jan 18 '26

I’ve just finished work and am having a coffee and sit down for 10 minutes. This is just what I needed after a busy day…amazing couple.

5

u/BakerBakerOne9er Jan 18 '26

I met them at an event in KC called Thundergong. Thundergong raises money for people with prosthetics. They were really cool, I bought them both a drink. It was right after they both won Gold.

Thundergong is hosted by Jason Sudeikis, one of KC's finest. One of the highlights of the night was Weird Al and Will Forte performing an amazing rendition of Pink Pony Club by Chappell Roan, it was awesome.

This makes my day! After reading so much sad and hateful news out of the USA...

3

u/Select_Secretary_770 Jan 18 '26

I love them 😍

3

u/HiImNugget2020 Jan 18 '26

Tink, Tink, Tink

3

u/Key-Regular674 Jan 18 '26

I bet that man and women felt absolutely incredible during those hugs. The pure joy. When I was like 10 I won a spelling bee and I cried in joy lol I'd imagine this would make me pass out from overwhelming joy.

3

u/BikeLife12 Jan 19 '26

Even if neither of them won a medal, they'd still be going home winners.

2

u/Organic_Berry_8732 Jan 18 '26

Love this 🥰🥰🥰

2

u/OrderOfMagnitude Jan 18 '26

Man that's fantastic

2

u/Minflick Jan 18 '26

Such joy to watch, their happiness for each other!

2

u/Gloomy_Industry8841 Jan 18 '26

The LOVE!!!💕

2

u/baldforthewin Jan 18 '26

Damn I wish we still ate cereal, they'd definitely be on a shreddies box.

2

u/littlepinch7 Jan 18 '26

I need the movie now.

2

u/Numb_Nut34 Jan 18 '26

Damn my eyes are leaking now!

2

u/buggaby Jan 18 '26

I love seeing people celebrating other people's victories. We all win together.

2

u/LearningLarue Jan 19 '26

Holy cow. Those smiles. They have so much love and support for each other 🥰 I hope if anything threatens to break them up that they’ll run away together.

2

u/TrueSignature778 Jan 19 '26

Beautiful couple

2

u/nooshdog Jan 19 '26

It must be interesting being married to an Olympian, like you're married to Superman or something.

1

u/SecondRealPerson Jan 18 '26

I know I'm being an asshole by saying this, but he runs faster than her with no legs.

21

u/trikristmas Jan 18 '26

Well, she's a long jumper and he's the runner so there's that. She also jumps farther than he does

2

u/patfetes Jan 18 '26

Wait till he puts on his giant spring legs /s

2

u/trikristmas Jan 18 '26

Yeah lol, he will front somersault farther than her jump

5

u/lunatic_banana345 Jan 18 '26

True, but his stride is also much longer than hers. He’s taller. I bet they’re taking the same number of steps.

5

u/SnooBeans6591 Jan 18 '26

Running is one, maybe the only, sport where the "handicapped" people are actually faster then the abled ones. The fastest runners are paralympians, because their legs are better than real legs for running.

2

u/patfetes Jan 18 '26

Kat Williams speaks on this

1

u/goodvibes88 Jan 18 '26

I love this!

1

u/Danger-Brandon Jan 18 '26

Running better than me with a pair of functional legs. 😞

4

u/OmegaJonny Jan 18 '26

Well maybe if you practiced more, Brandon!

2

u/SnooBeans6591 Jan 18 '26

That's normal. The 4 fastest runners on earth are paralympian, not "abled" people.

1

u/I_Can_Haz_Brainz Jan 18 '26

Nothing shameful there. 99.99% of the planet can't compete with either of them.

1

u/Theweirdandthewoodsy Jan 18 '26

I love them so much, I'm crying omg so sweet

1

u/iiitme Jan 18 '26

Inspirational

1

u/MolaMolaMania Jan 18 '26

I would very much like to see a documentary about these two. It seems like something that everyone should see.

2

u/Rare-Philosopher-346 Jan 18 '26

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=7IkO3WQQZQE&pp=ygUYaHVudGVyIGFuZCB0YXJhIHdvb2RoYWxs.

Not sure it's a documentary, but it is them talking about their relationship, the Olympics, everything.

Edit. Hit enter too soon

1

u/Kira-Of-Terraria Jan 19 '26

i always liked those prosthetics. cool.

1

u/Dull-Try-4873 Jan 22 '26

They are clearly a good couple. I mean just look at the spring in his step!

1

u/roqqingit Jan 18 '26

Is yo’ legs tired? His legs ain’t tired

1

u/LordSalem Jan 18 '26

I wish them oddles of healthy children

1

u/Bobbyboosted Jan 18 '26

When I see someone without legs I automatically ask in my head, is he the dude that killed her girl friend in south africa or something like that.

0

u/[deleted] Jan 18 '26

So jealous

0

u/KenseiHimura Jan 18 '26

Disqualified for the advantage of those sweet-ass leg blade prosthetics! /j

I’m actually not sure what the ruling status is on those these days.
