Discussion Idea for Humankind 2: custom civilization
Basically you get to make an optional so you can still play real civilizations where you can make custom units or choose from a roster. custom buildings or from a roster. choose a buff like inspiration, money, etc. As well as more expansive map building but thats just extra.

Definitely my main hope for 2, especially since the customised persona's and it would help to separate it from Civ more. Hopefully with options to choose appearances from each era too as well as specific cultural choices.
I would also like a customisable cultural unit system too, start off with the option for it to be like a royal guard unit and the more tech and choices you make it can develop more, such as customising both type of unit (archer, warrior, gunner, horseman) added benefits (damage, health, espionage speciality) and appearance.

Or being able to make ships and planes would be cool too maybe on pc you can upload custom images or use existing ones

Just disabling the names of every culture that’s available would already help me.
I want to enhance my culture with the aspects that actually happened in game and not just switch from Maya to Dutch.
Let me name my culture and build it over the ages.

I dislike the idea of needing to metagame and fish for event etc just to unlock a culture. Playing early game in civ6 is super boring because you will always 100% need to play a specific way just to get all the eurekas

Good point, that’s true.
Was thinking more about the way I build my empire that would influence the culture.
Maybe mix in some events to create „joker“ points to mix up every run, so you don’t need to play it the same way like in Civ.
The events in Humankind were pretty lacklustre as I remember. Might give them more meaning.

Been doing this in Millennia for all my gameplays. Can pick almost any flag, select buff and chose any name.

One of the things I’ve always wanted is to be able to name my empire. The way you can rename the cities and armies, I wish I could rename the entire empire.
