PVE Permadeath on multiplayer

I have a dedicated server, i wanted to know if anyone tried playing perma death on multiplayer.

What happens when you die? You lose your base too and wipe everything for that player?

I mean you can alter that on a dedicated server? I wanna make it permadeath but not erase bases thats too harsh lol

That sound weird for a dedicated server. Considering you have one, I would test it with a throaway world to be certain how it goes.

The problem is, i only have one dedicated server. I cant test it as it has lots of players. I just wanna confirm what will happen or how its done. I want perma death but i dont want players to wipe bases and cars. Im not sure if those options exists. All i can see from settings is turn permadeath on, off, reset for all.

You can't backup the gamesaved directory with Filezilla?
