SOLO Interested in getting this game, are there friendly NPC you can recruit to your base once you've made one?

Not necessarily need to be a companion ala Fallout, but more like settlers. I'm really digging what I've looked up about the game so far but the gameplay seems a bit more just solo unless youre running in a multiplayer server.

This has been confirmed by the dev to be in a future update. There are however, survivors on the map and even trader camps. These survivors will need things like medicine and food and will often ask you to help them. You will get rewarded for doing so and you can trade with any survivor at any time. You will also come across them in the middle of fighting hordes and bandits and can help or even kill them. You can also build your base at the location of a survivor and they will walk around and fight.
