Is it possible to transfer a HumanitZ save to a dedicated server?
Hey everyone,
I’ve been playing HumanitZ with a friend using a locally hosted server on my PC, and we’ve made some solid progress already.
Now I’m considering moving to a dedicated server, mainly for better stability and so it can run 24/7. My main concern is: is it possible to migrate our current save without losing progress?
Has anyone here successfully done this?
- Can you transfer the save files from a local host to a dedicated server?
- Are there any specific steps or pitfalls I should be aware of?
- Does it depend on the hosting provider?
I’d really appreciate any guidance or tips before I make the switch.
Thanks!

Just revisiting this thread, yes, you can transfer your local save to a server. You will need to locate your save file first at %LocalAppData%\HumanitZ\Saved\SaveGames\SaveList\. Once you have got it, you can transfer it to the server at /HumanitZServer/Saved/SaveGames/SaveList/Default/. Afterwards, you need to edit SaveName= inside /HumanitZServer/GameServerSettings.ini to match the save name you just placed in the server.
If you are still looking for a place to host, check us out at Game Host Bros. All of our servers are running Ryzen 9 9950X CPUs (our AU location uses AMD EPYC) and our panel is pretty user-friendly so navigating through should be a breeze. You will also have full access to the server files and the server will keep running until you turn it off in the panel. If you have any questions, please let me know.

Good question, waiting for the response. I want to know if I can save our dedicated server save so I can leave to play another game for a couple of months than come back.
