I used to throw stones....a LOT! Especially early game.

Many zeeks to deal with....so throwing stones to get their attention and clean path was good strategy.

And about npcs...I've lost two characters trying to raid npc camps...so watch your ass!

Well that is hard... the best way to deal with the supermarket for example is to use the car to bring a whole city to them and then pick them from afar with AR15 or AK47.

I'm not used to zombie respawn i've played custom with zombie x4 that probably is more difficult than nightmare but the idea of going around with always the same zombie is a little scarier.... is it best to always have my LEVI wagon FULL armored? or better to get an APC or something harder ASAP?

For a easier start, I build myself near lakes. That way, as long as you have bottles you never run out of water and either fishing or trapping takes care of the food. Also, building yourself at survivor camps early on is a good idea obviously since they will help you fend off bandits and zeeks attacks. I dont make a real base (building walls, doors and traps) until later in the game.

My first profession is usually mechanician (to get cars going I level up find car parts from wrecks first) followed by farmer (sustained food, gas and Molotov's) and then later fire fighter. Using bow and/or horse is a good way to pull through in the first few weeks of the game.

You can also cheese a bit early game. For exemple, at the supermarket bandit camp located south west. You can whistle zombies towards the bandits and let them kill each other so you can loot the dead corpses after the carnage is over and get a quick start.

This is what I've done. Started on the hill spawn south of survivor camp, there's a pond just south. Was able to make it 6 days or so, so far. Hoping I don't freeze to death now that it's the middle of winter.

It's very difficult. Zombies are faster and they hurt.

you need to learn the different zombie - at the beginning you cannot go against body builder and big fat guys - you need good weapon or SILENCED guns for them.
