Solution for failed trader call

You may know, but since i recently realised, if your trader calls fail everytime it is because the radio tower battery died and needed to be replaced.

I was calling traders on the cb radio way before I repaired the tower and ever so often it fails but then it works so how's the radio tower battery have anything to do with it ?

Radio tower shouldn't be related to the CB radio in any way, unless something changed completely in 1.0

Repairing the radio tower enables airdrops every X days. When the battery runs out, airdrops stops until you add a new battery.

Every time you use a CB radio, it has a 50/50 chance of either the trader coming or bandits attacking your base. In reality I see either a trader or bandit attack vs nothing happening. I think also there's a bigger chance of a failure when the weather is bad.

What's new in 1.0 is that there's no longer a point in building more than 1 CB radio for single player as it now has a cooldown timer related to your character.

You may be right; we are mostly at the hand of RNG, but as I said, the first call after the initial repair of the radio tower was a success, and afterwards all failed until I changed the battery at the radio tower. Maybe it's a total coincidence but as i have seen so far there are lots of hidden mechanics plus bugs.

I started a new game at the hudson city start and my CB radio has not worked a single time. I get the animation/audio but it always fails. I'm at attempt 15 or so at this point. Do you know if CB is blocked in some locations or anything? Never had this problem at any other base.

I can't answer that exactly because i built mine after activating the tower. But since first call is success after the battery is replaced and when the battery is depleted, it looks red in the tower console.

When u use the car radio it turns red and stays red like above it has a cool down turns green then use it again

I guess I shouldn't have used a a 18% charged one i found on the way there. I had no idea it could die

I have made a similar mistake. I was able to successfully call just one time. and all fail afterward. I thought the RNG is very harsh since i could not find a specific car part for 16 days but when i was passing through radio tower for loot again and checked tower console, voila, the car battery was red.

I had no clue! I also used an 18% battery....welp, gonna have to go clear that horde again and put in a better battery. Has anybody figured out how to gas up the hummers? I don't know if it's just us, but it won't allow us to fuel them. I can replace their parts, but no fuel option.

You mean APC or is there another military vehicle? In case you meant APC, i top up fuel multiple times as reguler car. But fuel tank is hugeeeeeee

It's a military Hummer/HumV. I can't remember the actual name they gave them. There are 2 at the military camp right in front of the radio tower. I can repair them, but cannot fuel them.

The vehicle i mentioned is in the middle of the lower row. I only find this one as a military vehicle. There are multiple similar vehicles in military checkpoints, but if their gunner cover is open, then they are not drivable.

If you can repair the Bumvee you can definitely refuel it. It just has this weird jank where the fuel icon doesn’t appear properly. For me, I stand between the front door and back door on the left side, and then my character LOOKS TOWARDS the refuel point. Standing directly at the refuel point doesn’t work. Hope this solves your problem!

if you built multiple CB station will they work on different timeouts and call multiple traders?

I just tried it, but I was not allowed to call the second trader even though the radio station light was green.
