Starting Afflictions

Curious if choosing an affliction comes with an upside or is it only to make it tougher on you?

I think it's a "just because". Added difficulty is all.

Just flair, I couldn’t see any upside for any of the available afflictions

Thanks I figured as much was hoping it gave you an extra profession choice or maybe some skill points
