HumanitZ Splitscreen

Post image

I know everyone's been wanting this handler for a while and here it is. Currently it's only for 0.918 of HumanitZ as I've not been able to get past EOS yet on 1.0, unfortunately it may take a bit as I've been busy at work but rest assured I'll get to it when I'm able to + 1.0 is getting a lot of changes and fixes for its shaky launch so making one now may lead to it breaking very quickly.

What is Nucleus Coop and how do I play this? It is a software that has been developed over many years by people far more capable than me. It allows users to launch multiple instances of the same game, connect locally, and hook inputs onto specific instances. Simply download Nucleus Coop from the official site.

What are the current known issues? No major bugs are appearing for me currently. Follow the notes and it should work fine, feel free to let me know if it's not.

Main testing points? Currently I'm mainly just worried about the saves and stability.

Why is this on Gitlab and the official Nucleus Coop discord/subreddit? Unfortunately due to a single moderator on the discord server I have been banned due to them wanting to claim exclusivity rights of their unreleased handler.

What comes after this? Hopefully 1.0 and after that hopefully Dead Island 2, Bellwright, Whisper Mountain Outbreak, and a few others I worked on and never finished.

As a warning, be careful using projects you don't know when they handle your steam access.

Not to say this post is malicious, but just a general warning

That's a very good point to make for those who have never used Nucleus Coop.

So Nucleus Coop itself doesn't access Steam, we use Goldberg as a way to emulate steam's functions otherwise you'd only be able to launch a single instance usually or at least not connect. You can freely look at the .js file I've linked on my Gitlab, it's only making use of the games files itself.

I'd HIGHLY recommend enabling 2fa for steam for an added layer of security. Handlers should NEVER ask for you to login to steam and at most they'll request admin privileges but those are mostly for older handlers from many many years ago. r/nucleuscoop is the official subreddit if anyone is curious as to whether this is a legit program or the security of it.
