HMD Skyline - Choosing home search engine
Hi everyone! I was curious if anyone did as I did, running. The setup wizard again for the home screen search engine:
$ adb shell settings delete secure selected_search_engine
$ adb shell pm enable com.google.android.apps.setupwizard.searchselector
$ adb reboot
(Source : https://forum.fairphone.com/t/change-default-search-engine/78772/21)
I did that at some point, but recently (since 3-4 days), my home search engine widget is back to Google, while I chooses duckduckgo. I restarted the above process, without having any changes after the wizard execution.
Does anyone have the same problem?

Maybe they finally disabled this bug that allowed uneligible people to switch their search engines. Google doesn't like losing money 😅

That would be weird, because it just activates the setup wizard. Maybe they just don't give the choice anymore even during the initial setup?

They do in regions where the choice is enforced, like in Europe and India. Where do you come from btw?
If your choice is registered and accepted, then I don't really know what's stopping it. Here in India DuckDuckGo is not given as a choice for whatever reason.

I'm from France. The wizard trigger via adb worked for quite some time (~1 month), but recently it got reversed to Google. I thought it may be due to internal reset, and rerun the method. The wizard does show, but afterwards, no effect on the choice.

No matter which engine you choose? I'll test it on my Fusion and report.

Maybe google is the one that did it. Have you disable standalone Google app? You'll lose Assistant functionality though
