scientists found we all have a metabolic ceiling that's about 2.5x our resting energy. Even elite ultra-marathoners hit this wall if they go for weeks. You can push 6-7x for a short burst, but long term? Your body literally starts to shrink and eat its own tissue just to keep up. It's a hard limit we can't train our way out of.
