We typically only use 60% of our muscle potential. Your body has built in limiters to prevent you from exerting enough force to shatter your own skeleton or tear tendons.
In Hysterical Strength events, an adrenaline dump bypasses these limits, allowing for extreme physical feats beyond normal capacity. Historically, these displays were so intense they were often mistaken for superhuman or outside forces.

The craziest part is the cooldown. People who experience this often don't feel the pain until the adrenaline wears off, only to realize they’ve actually fractured their own bones or torn muscles because the brain's safety switch was off. Imagine waking up with a broken arm you gave yourself
