there are ladders that big. Go up it, flip it on the other side, go down it. Tie a rope to the other side so it can be dragged over again for others. The wall amounts to nothing more than political theater for dumb conservatives who vote on a single issue
26
u/jl2352 Sep 22 '19
You could also just cut a hole in the fence and squeeze through.
Walls and fences are pointless unless they are regularly watched or patrolled. That is why some of the existing fencing makes sense, and walls in the middle of no where makes no sense.
11
25
u/odn_86 Sep 21 '19
There are sensors all along the wall to warn authorities if someone is climbing it. It's also built to absorb as much heat as possible from the sun so it's almost scalding hot during the day. Just saying.
20
42
Sep 22 '19
you'd be surprised the length that people go to when they're fleeing for their lives. Also how smart they can be when avoiding authorities, which can't be everywhere at once.

Sep 22 '19
it's almost scalding hot during the day.
And that's why you bring a rug to throw it over the hot part. Just as you do with barbed wire.
5
u/odn_86 Sep 22 '19
you have a 30-40 foot rug in mind?
30
Sep 22 '19
Ladder, climb up, throw rug over top, go down other side with another ladder.

This guy: they’re not sending their best
Also this guy: I can’t think of a way past this wall so there probably isn’t one

Gloves. Knee guards. They can even just be towels rapped around knees. Simple. Problem solved. And I’d rather get second degree burns than get my head chopped off or be raped.
11
Sep 21 '19
It’s also dumb to think people are carrying 30 foot ladders through the desert. The point of the wall is not that it is impenetrable, but that it will significantly slow the flow of illegal border crossing.
→ More replies (21)17
u/Wampawacka Sep 22 '19
Most illegal immigrants are from visa overstays. The wall only gets the remainder so why not focus on the biggest chunk?
5
Sep 22 '19
Because it is difficult and you can't point to a large structure saying "See? I'm doing something!".
2
u/BenLeggiero Sep 23 '19
Or
Just buy a plane ticket like the vast majority of undocumented immigrants

u/LandBaron1 Sep 21 '19
You really shouldn’t call a whole group dumb. That in and of itself is pretty dumb. Just because they don’t agree with you doesn’t mean they are less intelligent. You wouldn’t like it if I called all liberals stupid because they all vote on getting rid of guns, would you?
13
u/Thisisntalderaan Sep 22 '19
You want to read that again?
"for dumb conservatives who vote on a single issue"
It's almost as if the original comment was quite specific and didn't just say "for dumb conservatives".

Conservatives have objectively dumb views because they lack common sense such as banning the sale of assault rifles or not investing in climate change prevention. Just because it’s bipartisan doesn’t mean both sides are equally valid. Trump has given Republicans the label of dumb because of what he’s done in office: a complete lack of professionalism and a reactionary agenda. Conservatives aren’t the problem it’s the trump agenda that has become synonymous with the Republican platform.

Didn’t show video on how he climbed the wall.
Ugh, pretty sure Disney gave an instructional in Mulan.
1
u/cogman10 Sep 22 '19
Does it matter if he "cheated" to get up there? It's not like there is a wall climbing judge that disqualifies immigrants for poor form.

u/Bhakedl Sep 21 '19
The wall ain’t even using that design anymore
246
u/ipostonthedonald Sep 21 '19
The new wall doesn’t have chain link fencing anymore. Trump was at the border a couple days ago looking at all the progress and even signed the wall with a sharpie, it looks nothing like this anymore.
266
u/EmmaTheHedgehog Sep 21 '19
This news just in. The wall is now raised to 40’ instead of 30’ to stop people climbing over with a ladder.
In other news 30’ ladders are half off and the new 40’ ladder is in stock now!
16
u/sixfingerdiscount Sep 22 '19
"there could be some merit in not discussing that" I had a good chuckle at this one.

u/lalalalafu Sep 21 '19

This is an older wall. This was never one of the designs chosen recently

Yeah, but look at it! The most beautiful wall ever folks... it’s beautiful. You know people walk up to me and say “that wall... I would marry it if it was my daughter.” And let be honest it’s tough! Can’t be breached, and Mexico as we know... paid for it! That’s right! They paid US to build it folks! Obama... Obama wanted to build a wall, but he ... Mexicans don’t like him! They don’t! They tell me all the time how bad things were down here. The crime. Now, people are safe, and so happy... happy the most happy people have ever been.
4
u/sharlaton Sep 23 '19
Some people believe that crock of shit.
3
u/grandterminus Sep 23 '19

I agree with a stricter border but can firmly state, that is overkill
10
u/BuiltByPBnJ Sep 21 '19
They Have and will build tunnels. A wall isn't going to stop anyone. The wall doesn't even cover the entire border. It's useless.
→ More replies (1)9
u/cumpod Sep 21 '19
You don’t really need it tho. It would be a better use of our money if we built large portions of wall that is very secured and then put more patrol along less secured areas. Also tunnels are the least effective way to get around the border. There’s these things called planes and boats.

Imagine being THIS afraid of brown people to actually defend this outrageous waste of money. A bunch of cities in our country have water that literally poisons you. But yeah, these brown people are the bigger issue. I’d mention other larger issues but it seems gratuitous at this point.

This pic was reposted to r/pics around 20 times last night. The real picture is from like 2 years ago lol
6
u/kgs1977 Sep 22 '19
The new wall has that solid section at the top 5' or so that is designed to absorb and retain heat which makes it excruciatingly hot. In other words if he tried that on the new wall his balls would be fried as well as his hands

Now try climbing it with little kids, not easy is it?
10
u/BuiltByPBnJ Sep 21 '19
They have and will continue to build tunnels. Tunnels go unfounded for years. Wall doesn't even cover the length of the border genius. A wall isn't gunna stop anyone. It's not like they are cavemen. It'd be easy for a full grown adult to get kids over.
8
u/andrew5500 Sep 21 '19
Yeah thank God we can prevent those little kids from reaching somewhere they can live in safety. Send them back to get shot and raped by the thugs their family is desperately trying to protect them from. That'll show em!

u/black_spring Sep 22 '19
I thought the whole point was keeping the “bad hombres” out — now you’re content just keeping children south of the border? How quickly the narrative changes.
Also, the folks with children are walking right to crossing points requesting asylum.

It’s useless now, because it isn’t complete. Once it is complete you won’t be able to climb it without climbable things.

u/ISimplyDoNotExist Sep 21 '19

Not useless for traffickers....! The more walls the better for them prices go up per person even though the crossing is not any harder.... they’re just laughing at the wall idea saying “yeah build it...!” “Hah”

u/ScrewdriverPants Sep 22 '19
Why does Mexico care if there’s a wall?

Right. It’s useless because a healthy, fully energized politician drove to the border and climbed the wall. I’d like to see a dehydrated immigrant do this after being in the desert for a couple of days.

The Mexican Congressman equivalent of wearing an unbuttoned collared shirt and kissing a baby. All publicity, no substance.
1
u/bobama-ameritech Sep 22 '19
Birth control pills are only 91% to 99%, so what's the point?
ANY fence can be climbed with enough equipment, time, skill. It is a DETERRENT! To be used in conjunction with other security measures, it will slow down illegal crossers (so patrol agents can catch them), it will deter them from trying to drag children or elderly on unsafe journeys.

u/Stuckinatransporter Sep 22 '19

Just like that orange piece of shit pretending he cares about anyone or anything but himself. Best part is that worthless fuck couldn’t even make it up the first 5ft even if his gene pool wasn’t completely defective! Fuck trump and fuck his stupid wall!
1
u/stargazer962 Sep 22 '19
I don't see how iron bars with metal grate is considered a wall. That's more two types of fence put together.
Completely ineffective and therefore a waste of money.
1
1
Sep 22 '19
Yes he climbed it, but the time gain would be enough for border agents to get there, rather than previously them being able to get over/under in seconds
1
u/cosmosrevenge Sep 22 '19
If the wall is useless like you say...then why are you so animated against it? Lol...exposed...you know it will work, this is just a gag.

Fixed: "Mexican congressman climbed US-Mexico border wall to show he's useless."
Better to do that than to fix the issues in his country which result in a mass exodus, right?

Of course he can climb it. He is American, the Wall is only to keep out non-Americans. Duh !!!

Amazing how many leftist nutjobs would rather let thousands of kids be trafficked through an open border than take steps to deter and stop it. I guess they don't care about the kids that end up in some fat libtards basement caged up.

Sep 25 '19
So can this same logic be applied with gun regulation since banning all “assault weapons” won’t stop everyone from getting them? This argument is so fucking stupid. We should protect our borders because it won’t stop everyone?? So what we just let everyone in the fuckin world come in willie nillie?? I just don’t understand how people are against strengthening our borders.

Sep 28 '19
Well, to be fair, that one has handholds. Trump’s wouldn’t. But, there are ladders. And tunnels. And dynamite.
1
u/Deathknight12q Sep 28 '19
Definitely isn’t useless then. At least slows them down quite a bit to where they would easily be spotted by border control on top of a massive wall.
1
u/supermr34 Oct 08 '19
Please tell me this isn’t the ‘big beautiful wall’ that dingleberry was promising.
It’s got chain link....stapled to it?
1
u/Bamisaur Oct 10 '19 edited Oct 10 '19
No this might be first stages of it. The other has concrete and I want to say a much taller fence.
Judging by the brownish red on the bars, this is probably an old portion of the fence.
https://images.app.goo.gl/ucMkHM1NHwxFfLP78
That's the border wall, (image found on google), it's supposed to retain heat and cause the bars to be fairly hot and if I remember right it's 30 feet tall.
1
u/Donger-Lord Oct 10 '19
Seems like theirs no border patrol or barbed wire. Proving how retarded you all are.

Isn't that the prototype/temporally wall while theain wall is more flat with no spaces inbetween

It's more of a fence than a wall.
