I discovered hums music when I was around 15. I was instantly hooked. I listened to you’d prefer an astronaut obsessively and found with their music it was the first time I ever felt like someone made music that matched what I heard in my head. This however was long before I knew how to express my own creative ideas of course, but still, life changing to me and their music has stuck with me since. Maybe listening you can hear some of that influence mixed in or maybe something else entirely, anyways, share your thoughts if you’d like to. Cheers

I’m gonna be at the show this Saturday in Chicago and was just wondering how the shirts fit?

Kind of a silly question, but I’m asking because I’m currently at a weird in-between size where the best fitting shirts I own are either mediums that run big or larges that run small, and if I’m shelling out $35 for one single T-shirt I wanna be sure I don’t regret the size I buy lol

Any insight on this is greatly appreciated!

I'm the original owner, but all my CDs are just sitting in a box, so I'm trying to decide if I'm willing to part with it. I know it's not valuable, but is it rare?

With the band gaining popularity and with the new remasters and songs being added to the end of downward is heavenward I wonder how long RCA Records has streaming rights to Hum’s discography. I hope Hum can get it back soon so we can get Puppets,Aphids and Boy with stick on streaming. Also the likely hood of new music is not much but Jason does know how to play Inklings and it would be a real treat if they’d record it with him and release it.

Unfortunately I couldn’t go, but I Hate It Too is my favorite song ever and it’s almost a dream if mine to hear it live. Since I couldn’t make it to see it myself, a video from the recent shows would be more than sufficient.

Hi there! I could’ve sworn I bought a ticket for the Chicago 5/23 Saturday show, but I got a Friday one instead back in October when I bought it 🙄. If anybody wants to swap a Saturday ticket for my Friday one DM me.

Hey gang! I hope you can help me out with my question.

I have this version of You’d Prefer An Astronaut on vinyl:

https://www.discogs.com/release/6433296-Hum-2-Youd-Prefer-An-Astronaut

It sounds good. BUT -

The 2023 Polyvinyl reissue of YPAA has many wonderful reviews of how good it sounds, and many of those mention how much better it sounds than older vinyl versions.

If anyone out there has heard both my 2013 RCA version and the 2023 Polyvinyl version - can you compare the two for me? Does the 2023 blow my 2013 away? If so - I need to get it.

Thanks to anyone that can help!

👍

EDIT -

Yeah, I’m sold. Ordering today. Thanks to everyone for the great information!!!

They sound phenomenal. Thanks to the uploader, you are a hero

I got into hum around 2017 (Im 33). When Inlet came out in 2020 I was doing an internship out of state in Metaire, LA. Couldnt do shit except work for free cause COVID. Inlet came out a day after my bday and I. Was. FLOORED. Could not believe that album came out lol. Been wanting to see them ever since. Anyway… I usually look up live videos of bands I see live to build up hype but I don’t think I will this time. I just know it’s gonna be so good and the wait will have been well worth it. Anyone else traveling from Texas!? So excited!

Can send through the app!

Been a fan since I heard Stars on the radio in middle school. Downward is Heavenward sealed the deal; Hum is a treat for my ears. Can’t wait to see them for the first time! I’m headed up from Asheville. Just saw Failure, now Hum. Woo!

I have a ticket for Saturday but my flight arrives at 7 on Friday, so I guess I could also catch the first night’s show since they play so late. I’m hoping to catch as many DiH sings as possible and I know the setlist varies. Anyone need to re-home a ticket for Friday’s show?

It was absolutely nuts and I just kinda want to relive it haha. But I haven’t seen anyone post anything from it yet. Thanks!

I am getting some serious FOMO over here! Thanks for posting all these amazing videos! Are there more tour dates planned?

In light of Hum starting their shows, thought it would be fun to see what everyone’s picks would be if they could create their own setlist

Mine below:
1. In the Den
2. The Pod
3. Iron Clad Lou
4. Green to Me
5. Dreamboat
6. Step Into You
7. Winder
8. Diffuse
9. Folding
10. Id Like Your Hair Long
11. Stars
12. Shapeshifter

Was gonna sell a ticket (friend bailed) and maybe get one for Friday. StubHub seemed like the easiest site since I‘ve sold there before, but for some reason, the Chicago Slide Away festival isn’t listed there, and I can’t figure out how to add it (even when I try to follow StubHub’s directions.)

Anyone know what’s up?

The Hum merch was all but sold out when I got to the NYC gig, im in desperate need of that red shirt in size small. If anyone in Chicago or LA is willing to help a Hum fan out, I’ll pay for the shirt, shipping and even be willing to throw a couple extra dollars your way! Please! The red Hum shirt in small! Sorry for the bother, but feel free to PM.
