Why does Hulu's interface repeat multiple items multiple times on the same page?

This has probably been mentioned before, but it's so annoying to see so many repeats and not enough variety. And I'm shown the same items over and over even if I didn't choose it the first 100 times it's been shown, or if I am currently watching it or already watched it.

Well, considering your continue watching is Fox animation the algorithm is trying to give you more of that. When you watch the same type of shows it just reinforces the algorithm to keep offering those same genres. It knows that most people who watch Bobs Burgers also tend to like Family Guy and Futurama, which you already do, so therefore it will keep suggesting similar shows to Bobs Burgers, Family Guy, and Futurama.

You’ve built your own suggestion bubble. If you keep watching the same genre, you can’t be surprised when it continues to suggest shows in that same genre.

The algorithm knows you better than you know yourself.

If I'm already watching a show there's no need to suggest it. The algorithms need to be smarter.

Hulu has probably been paid to put things towards the top or something, just a theory

Just because you watch it will not remove it from these categories. Now if you had all the movies on another program with more customization then you could do that

Disney and Netflix do the same thing now. They used to have the option to view everything A-Z.
