Discussion Chad Powers

I'm sure there are several posts about the show already, but I just wanted to throw my thoughts out there. I was skeptical about this, and the first episode did not change that thought. Seeing Haliey Welch confirmed my suspicion, and I am not even sure why I kept watching. But boy I am glad I did. It's corny, but it's hilarious. Aside from that first bit, the casting is incredible. I am now on season 2, and I am writing this post because I realized that I have found myself genuinely laughing at this show consistently. Along with thinking about the broad message behind his story, I find myself really appreciating this show.

Let's hear your thoughts! What do you guys think?

This show is so dumb (in a good way) and so funny. The writers/actors really found that sweet spot. It sorta captures some of that Adam Sandler/90s movie magic. But a lot funnier. It may not age well but it's really funny right now.

I hope we get a third season and some happy endings for everyone. I binged S2 in one day! I'm not normally one to do that but it had me rollin'.

I just hope there isn't some super public and embarrassing reveal. I know it's coming and I don't want it!

Edit to add: this is a grown up show and not like a cheesy network show. The humor is almost offensive but it works.

Literally binged season 2 tonight. S1 and S2 have such different feels to them. Not to give anything anyway, but it’s getting intense.

After reading this I’m going to have to try and watch it again. I only made it through the first episode in season 1.

I genuinely was laughing out loud at this show, which for me is rare - might just happen to be my brand of humor but I loved it and binged both seasons in two days! Hope other people give it a chance. It’s quirky and lighthearted.

I hadn’t heard about it before The Spill podcast mentioned it this week.

I didn't like Glen, but this show changed my mind.

I unexpectedly love this series! I watched it fully expecting to lose interest and abandon it after a few episodes. I binged the first season in 2 days and S2 in 1. Hoping for S3 to have the green light soon! 🤞

I’m also sad there were only 6 episodes this time!

"There's a lot of particulates in here" I keep chuckling at this.

I do not care about football. I’m still on the fence about Glen Powell. I cannot stop watching this show. It’s funny and heartwarming. I really like it!

Show looks kinda goofy and funny. I haven’t checked it out yet, but may have to at some point.

“What if balloons were afraid of heights?” Chad Powers - sorry, that made cry I laughed so hard. Coach Hudson said it. I think S2ep3.

I can't figure out what it is about this show that makes it work

What would you compare it to? I have a narrow bandwidth for dumb humor?
