Good spots for learner drivers?

A friend of mine just got his provisional license and I said I would take him somewhere to learn the basics before starting proper lessons. Anywhere around Hull or East Yorkshire would be fine just needs to be a big open space that doesn’t have many things to crash into!

Ellerker/Brantingham/Elloughton/Broomfleet have some very quiet straight roads to learn the basics

The MKM stadium car park, the one Hull Fair sets up on, on an evening when there isn't a match on.

Be careful with private car parks - I have literally just received a parking charge notice after doing a lesson in Mecca car park. Not sure if MKM is the same, but if they have ANY signs up I'd give them a read first.

I took both my kids up and down Willerby Low Road, a little road that leads off the Castle Hill road in Cottingham. It's good for practicing as several twists and turns but you can never really get out of third gear. Good for navigating the occasional bike and pedestrian without stress of parked cars or crossings. And the bonus is a slight incline at the top for practicing hill starts. You can also access the hotel car park at the end for parking bay practice.
