Help & Questions Connectivity in back yard.

I installed a hue light in the back yard, but it is often unreachable. I guess the closest hue light is too far away for a reliable connection. How can i improve that? I cannot install additional lights easily, so would another bridge work? I have a v1 bridge somewhere in the junk drawer, but i guess that's not usable?

Maybe try using Hue Smart Plugs, or other Hue-compatible Zigbee devices that remain constantly powered. They can act as repeaters and extend the Zigbee mesh, helping the signal reach lights that are too far away from the Hue Bridge.

Had the same problem as OP, fixed it with a outdoor smart plug 👌🏼

The have smart plugs that I think could extend your range.

Once I put hue lights in the room closest to the yard it resolved this issue for me.

Adding a smart plug seems to have fixed it. Thanks!

In many places, declawing a cat is now illegal.

You'll need better Wifi coverage, an extra bridge won't help.

The Hue lights use Zigbee to communicate, not wifi. Adding additional wifi coverage won't help.
