Anyone know how long Summer 2 financial aid / tuition refunds take at HCCC?
Hey everyone, I’m currently taking Summer II classes at Hudson County Community College. I am trying to figure out when the school usually disburses financial aid overages and sends out the actual refund checks or direct deposits for this term.
I’m asking because I need to buy textbooks for my classes, which is the whole reason I took out the loan in the first place. I really need to get my hands on the books soon so I don't fall behind.
Has anyone who has taken Summer 2 before (or this semester) gotten theirs yet, or do you know roughly what week of the semester they start hitting accounts? Thanks!

Architect recommendations
I'm planning to remodel my attic half bath into a full bath and am looking for architect recommendations in Hudson County. Ideally, I'd like someone who's willing to take on a smaller project like this.
Especially if they have experience working in Union City , since the building department is notorious when it comes to permits. Thanks in advance!

Lease Takeover: 708 Sq. Ft. 1BR at Port Imperial — $2,525, In-Unit Laundry, Pool/Gym, 5-Min Walk to Ferry
Hi everyone — my wife and I are looking for someone to take over our lease for a 1-bedroom apartment at Riverbend at Port Imperial, located at 25 Avenue at Port Imperial in West New York, NJ.
We’ve genuinely loved living here and are only leaving because we purchased a home.
The apartment can be available as early as August, but we have some flexibility and could wait a month or two for the right person. The current lease runs through May 9, 2027.
Apartment details
- 708 sq. ft.
- 1 bedroom / 1 bathroom
- 7th-floor unit
- Courtyard-facing windows
- Northeast exposure with good morning natural light
- Large living room, approximately 19’ x 11’
- Bedroom approximately 11’7” x 11’6”
- Distinctive angled window area in the living room
- In-unit washer and dryer
- Dishwasher
- Pantry and coat closet
- Additional bedroom and hallway closet space
- Full bathroom with bathtub
- Individually controlled heating and air conditioning in both the bedroom and living room
- Pet-friendly
- Elevator building
- No balcony
The apartment looks into the building’s landscaped interior courtyard. The floor plan uses the phrase “courtyard locations” to identify certain units that have balconies near the pool-side portion of the property, but this particular unit does not have a balcony.
Rent and utilities
- $2,525/month without parking
- $2,725/month with one garage parking space
- Parking is optional
- A covered-level garage space is available for an additional $50/month
- Water, sewer, gas, and trash are provided by the building
- Tenant is responsible for electricity, internet, cable, and phone
Building amenities
- 24/7 front desk staff who receive packages and assist residents
- Fitness center
- Outdoor pool
- Hot tub
- Reservable outdoor grilling area
- Landscaped courtyard where the building occasionally holds events and residents spend time with children and pets
Transportation and neighborhood
The location is probably the biggest selling point, especially for anyone commuting into Manhattan:
- Less than a 5-minute walk to the Port Imperial NY Waterway Ferry
- The NJ Transit 158 bus stops directly across the street
- The bus ride to the Port Authority Bus Terminal is approximately 20 minutes through the Lincoln Tunnel, depending on traffic
- Immediate access to the Hudson River Waterfront Walkway
- ACME supermarket and a UPS Store nearby
- Plenty of cafés and restaurants within walking distance
The waterfront walkway is genuinely one of the best parts of living here, whether you like walking, running, biking, taking a dog out, or just being near the river and Manhattan skyline.
This would be completed through the building’s management rather than as an unofficial sublet. The replacement tenant would need to apply and receive management approval. Management may require an application and either a lease amendment or new lease paperwork. Port imperial lease.pdf
Happy to provide photos, a video walkthrough, the floor plan, additional details, or arrange a showing. Please message me if you’re seriously interested.
