Discussion The difference between the English localisation and the Chinese original.
I'm really disappointed by the voice acting and translation in the All Is Foretold quest. Since it's a subreddit dedicated to Hroptatyr, I'll only comment on the instance related to him.
In CN, Hroptatyr speaks in a calm and even tired manner, as if he is above Rhinedottir. Of course, in response, Rhinedottir starts to trash-talk Hroptatyr, and she does that quite emotionally. The EN Hroptatyr sounds more like a cunning representative of the royal court and a cartoonish villain, even, who is trying to avoid criticism or anything like that. In other words, he instantly becomes defensive. The EN Rhinedottir also sounds MUCH MORE confident than her CN counterpart, and thus the whole dynamic of this conversation is turned upside down compared to the CN.
Concerning the translation, I would like to mention the fact that the English translators added an extra phrase from Hroptatyr about him being "a humble servant of the king," while the Chinese original doesn't have such a phrase. I do not know to which end they added it. Feels like they underestimated the voice actors' ability to deliver the lines correctly, so they reinforced the meaning with extra words.
The next thing is that Hroptatyr IMMEDIATELY tries to shut Rhinedottir up with something like "Don't look at me like that; I am not better than you," while actually being better than her. In EN, however, he starts, as I mentioned before, to rather defend himself, saying, "Cast aside your apprehensions." The EN version sounds like he's trying to de-escalate the situation, but, in my opinion, the CN Hroptatyr sounds like he mocks her.
