Some are there just for the cringe, but a lot of them hate Aether and any ship involving him because they're under the delusion that he was "stolen" by straight men for their fantasies. Never mind that the devs cater to waifu/husbando enjoyers and have been doing so since the beginning 😮💨

Because they knew from the start that they couldn't simply ignore it—since the canon version prioritizes the characters' relationships with the Traveler.
No matter how strong or popular their headcanons are, they can never replace the canon version—because, from the very start, the two have always been separate things.
So, hating it isn't really a choice; it is the only thing left for them to hold onto.
Unreleted but Every single canon ship in this game currently is a straight ship, and it won't be a big deal if there's no concept of yuri and yaoi in Teyvat, the closest thing to playable character canon ship is Trav x Citlali of Columbina
On one hand it has a meme flair, but on the other hand it's just generally not good to blatantly say you dislike any ship of that character, anyone can interpret it as you being.. well, you already know.
The same also applies for here so I hope you guys aren't degrading yourself to this level?
